That explains the lack of bootie shorts. Still I discovered a new song - which I love.

I love those humorous "everything-is-going-wrong" songs, they never fail to make me laugh.

I first heard that song on the Bob & Tom morning radio show, not sure if you get it where you are, but they're pretty much all about comedy, comedians, comedy songs, etc. Some listener called in and said that he sent the CD with that song on it to his son who was a Marine stationed in Afghanistan. He said his son told him that his troop played it every morning before they went on duty, it was their "motivational" song. So, Bob & Tom sent a whole bunch of their CD's over to the troops in the Middle East as a thank you gift.

This was all several years ago, so I can't verify any of the information, but I do remember hearing it on their show that I used to listen to every single morning. Thought it was pretty cool.

Nope, I don't think we do, but then again I don't normally listen to country music. That is super cool though.

I Think I'm Turning Japanese....

This song may have been the inspiration for all those pretty
fans that I once had decorating my wall. And I still love my kimono!

slaveluci -> RE: REALLY bad 80s music videos (7/15/2011 5:27:54 PM)

I didn't open every link so I'm not sure if this one has been shared yet but I loved the song and just couldn't understand why the lead singer was dressed so oddly[;)]

sunshinemiss -> RE: REALLY bad 80s music videos (7/16/2011 3:37:27 AM)

You know... I didn't start seeing music videos until... gosh I don't remember, but not back then!  I love all this old music.  I still sing it at times!  Thanks for putting up songs and info and such.

WyldHrt -> RE: REALLY bad 80s music videos (7/17/2011 8:37:38 PM)

You're welcome. There's actually nothing wrong with the music at all. It's the truly lame videos I'm making fun of and, by extension, the fact that they were considered so cool back then. [:D]

I mean, really, can anyone who loved this video back in the 80s even look at it now without being a wee bit embarrassed?

(Motley Crue- Looks That Kill)

Tantriqu -> RE: REALLY bad 80s music videos (7/17/2011 9:00:09 PM)

Lol, my older brother and I have nothing in common, but for some reason we bonded over his music, and I listened to a lot of NSFW stuff as a pre-teen that a friend of his imported from the UK for DJ'ing in clubs.
And it didn't affect me a bit ;-)

My vote:
Frankie Goes to Hollywood, 'Relax', banned version:

Not embarrassed in the slightest. I remember when this came out. I thought it was the coolest thing. I was already a Crue fan from their first album. I was already singing in bands back then, so I went and bleached my hair to look like Vince. The more like a girl you looked, the more girls you got. LOL! Ahhhh...memories.
I still love Motley Crue.

Hold on a minute now. I like that song. Weird as it is. And that buggles song. I'll have to nominate depeche modes "enjoy the silence". That video reminds me of those damn creepy burger king commercials.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l_uh8XjgLTE Damn Yankees- High Enough. Can someone please tell me how about 30 cops get out of two cars, and why they then shoot at the band hahaha On a side note, Ted Nugent looks very odd as a priest.

Someone could try and explain this one too if they want http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dFLggqjddKM < Nelson- After the rain

ETA- Ok this isn't actually the '80s the video was made in '90 but these men were so beautiful and they actually played their own insturments and didn't need auto tune or anything like that. For the ladies here this was such a girl song that I can't help but post it. Hope you like it too.. Extreme - More than words http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UrIiLvg58SY&feature=relmfu

Charnegui -> RE: REALLY bad 80s music videos (7/23/2011 2:41:23 AM)

It isn't the 80's but late 70's I think, but what about this vid?

Boney M - Daddy Cool (and many more of them also)

Admittedly it was a skit, but still a quality song and video. So beautiful, and moving:

Damn Yankees and Styx both get a pass. I'm too busy drooling over Tommy Shaw to actually pay attention to what's happening in the video. [:D] [;)]
