A little bit of irony to start the day

quote:

Report: Obama top recipient of News Corp. donations

Political donations by News Corp., its employees and their families were evenly split between Democrats and Republicans, with President Obama the all-time leading recipient, according to a report from the Sunlight Foundation.

The transparency watchdog noted Tuesday that Democrats received 51 percent of contributions while Republicans received 49 percent, despite the firm's highly publicized links to the GOP, such as a $1 million donation to the Republican Governors Association in August.

News Corp. is the parent company of The Wall Street Journal, the New York Post and Fox News, among others. The firm is currently under scrutiny in both the U.S. and U.K. over allegations its subsidiary News of the World hacked into voice mail accounts and bribed public officials.

Not very surprising the black WASP was at the front of the queue.

The Murdoch also supported Hillary Clinton, too. If the GOP stalwarts ever figured out just how much of their defeat  in the last presidential election carried out with a wink and a nod from New Corp's top end . . . .

51% to 49%.

Not an overwhelming advantage.

Yeah, it kind of seems like they're just making sure to split it so they're fine no matter who wins.

Just like many other corporations. Hedging their bets and hoping it pays off one day.

51/49, no matter which way, looks about as "Fair and Balanced" as "Fair and Balanced" could be...certainly significantly more "Fair and Balanced" than ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, MSNBC, NYT, WaPo et al.

That is a stupid post. The thread is about political donations not "news" coverage.

Try and keep up.

I hope RacerJim doesn't go to www.tray.com and look up campaign contributions for Brian France the Nascar exec.

He has given an awful lot of money to Democrats.

Does this mean you're throwing Murdoch and FOX under the bus?

He also points out the top recipients from the firm's political action committee, News America Holdings, in the 2009-10 election cycle were Reps. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Howard Berman (D-Calif.) and Sen. Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.).

You've got it. One bribes those in office or power...not out. Then raise or give money to hire you want in, so you don't have to bribe...like the repubs they are already on the payroll of K St..

Whoever has the power receives the largess... this is proof that News Corp is into buying influence more than it has a partisan agenda as a corporation... but that does not mean that the business model of News Corp isn't to profit off the idiocy of their audience. This is why they own so many tabloids and turn respected papers into tabloids...

Everyone knows that communications companies give money to both sides, and if one side is trending better than the other, that is the side that they will weigh their contributions toward

Once again when faced with utter defeat and humiliation, the cons default response.......they are all/both parties, bad, fucked up,the same etc."Hey,....we`re all fucked up.....

So we know what rupert got from republicans, for his donations to them.

What has rupert gotten from President Obama?

We should also count most of fox`s operating budget as an in-kind donation, to the grand oil party.
