Here's the problem. I do not know the name of this movie, and, apparently, I do not know who stars in it (or, someone has his filmography wrong). Here is what I do know. It came out sometimes around 1978 - 1980. The lead male character was played by someone who I remember as being Jeff Bridges. He was definitely that type of man. And, every time I start looking for the movie, and, asking around at video stores, I get directed to 'Meet Bill', but, that is absolutely not the right movie. They have a lot of similarities in description, but, not so much in fact. The movie I am interested in, starts out with a very timid man who is married to a woman who is cheating on him. I believe she is a ballet star. At the very least, she does a little bit of ballet moves in the movie and she is super thin, willowy, with a big cloud of dark hair, big lips - but, she is not Jessica Alba, as, Jessica Alba is too young to have played her. She's that kind of gorgeous, though; but, to me, ever so much more so. There is a creepy little dog that attacks the man when he goes out. It shows, again, how terribly timid he is, that he lets this little dog make his life miserable. His wife is rich, I believe he is working at his father-in-law's bank. Still not Meet Bill, though. lol Then, something happens, I don't remember what. Maybe it's that the man catches his wife cheating. Whatever it is, he cracks up, and, starts getting increasingly aggressive, and, as part of showing that he has changed, the little dog lunges at him and he catches it and kicks it or throws it, something like that. It is the sort of movie that made a big impact on me, in my youth, in much the same way that Freebie and the Bean, and, Dirty Harry did. It is a movie, in a way, about releasing your true nature and becoming what you are. Therefore, it is also something that, maybe, would have had a similar impact on someone else who saw it at the theater. Then, too, the woman was extremely beautiful - the audience held its breath in awe of her, when she was first on the screen, and, many people felt he deserved what he got - until she got really creepy - for marrying out of his league. So, someone might remember it, due to her. I hope someone does, as I can't find a clue!
