Why do people pretend that income taxes are the only taxes paid?

It gives them a reason to look down on people who work for low wages as being parasites, lazy, non ambitious and/or morons.
Blame them for the fact that these people cant afford to live on a single pay check. When its 47 % of your population, its not the 47% that should ashamed. Why are almost half of your population living below the poverty line??
But that wont stop them shitting all over anyone that doesnt measure up their expectations of "reality" and being more than fodder for their paranoia.

What the fuck are you asking me for?  I have never said that.  Any license, permit, registration, dues, toll, etc. is a form of taxation.  Having the police crack down on seat belt tickets or raising criminal penalties are also forms of taxation.  The country has married the criminal justice system to its revenue system and where ever that happens, justice becomes a thing of the past.

So, that 47% are all living in poverty?

Is that your definition of "poverty": not paying federal income taxes?

From that link:

Roughly as many people blame Republican policies for the poor economy as they do Obama. But 65 percent disapprove of the GOP’s handling of jobs, compared to 52 percent for the president.

Yes, "generic Republican candidate" could beat Obama, unfortunately the GOP can't seem to find an actual candidate that does as well as "generic Republican candidate."

Romney and Obama are tied. None of the other candidates come close to Obama. And none of the candidates at all are beating Obama.

You are never going to make headway with these losers, Firm.  A 10% flat tax crawls up their asses because people who don't make a certain amount of money should pay NOTHING.  Gratis.  Their whole miserable existence should be subsidized.  A person makes $16,000.00 per year, it is too much to ask that the person pays $1,600.00 into the system?  I don't think so.

Here is a reality none of these losers want to bring into the discussion.  A great many people making low wages on the books are also making a majority of their money in cash and not reporting it.  I have a friend who is a barber who claims $14,000 per year in income.  What he averages, however, is $1,500 per week.  Do all people making shit wages have it that good?  Of course not but I'm not interested in a taxpayer by taxpayer analysis.  That is the benefit of a flat tax.

Who benefits from paying no income tax?  The Lucy's and Fargles of the world, Firm and there is nothing you can say that will impress on them their social responsibility to pay their own freight.  You might as well try telling a TICK to go on a blood-free diet.

Honestly, I wouldn't say "poverty" but I'd definitely say poor.

From this:
http://finance.yahoo.com/news/Nearly-half-of-US-households-apf-1105567323.html?x=0

The example given is a family of four making $50,000 a year would pay no federal income tax. Assuming it's a two income house, like most families, that would mean two people at jobs making $25k a year. And I'm sorry but...$25k a year is poor. For a standard 40 hour work week, that's $12 an hour. I made $10 an hour in high school...10 years ago. There's no fucking way I could have supported myself and a kid on $12 an hour...not living any sort of reasonable lifestyle. Especially not if I was paying for my own health insurance, dental, etc. Two parents making $12/hr, with 2 kids...that's not really financially comfortable. Especially if they're living in a city.

Oh...I'm very credible.  All a person has to do is read the idiot blather that you and your liberal pals advance.  IT IS ENTIRELY CLEAR that your segment of society wants to contribute nothing and is owed....OWED!! .... a free ride by people who work hard for what they have.

You say "oh...being poor isn't fun".  So what?  WHY are those people poor?  Are they all at the lower end of the bell curve for the IQ?  Is that what you are saying?  There are a lot of people of "average" intellect but "above average" ambition that are in the middle class, upper middle class, upper class and super rich.  So...why are they poor, Lucy???  And why is it my responsibility to subsidize them?  Ok...let's say there is a graded flat tax: 10%, 12.5% and 15%.  The top payers are STILL subsidizing.  But you tell me why the bottom FIFTY FUCKING PERCENT shouldn't kick in.

My rants are very credible.  You advocate for confiscatory taxation, a virtual form of slavery, to support an underclass.  Well....THAT is an extreme position as far as I'm concerned.  And so I will take the position on the opposite end of the spectrum because meeting in the middle is clearly impossible; FUCK them....let them die in the street.

No...25K per year is NOT poor.  Oh...my starting salary as a first year associate in a law firm, by the way, in 1992 was $27,000.00  My rent was $750.  I had to budget, no doubt about it.  My rent was approximately 45% of my monthly income, but I got by.  Lots of pasta and canned chicken.

Growing up in Arkansas, I have seen "real" poverty.  I have seen houses with outhouses even in this day and age.  Home made houses with newspaper covering each and every wall like wall paper because newspaper is a great source of insulation, water from an outside well, no electricity and a "party-line" telephone if there was a telephone at all.  And yet, those people had more pride, dignity and independence than many of those on this board.

Awwww...25K apiece is uncomfortable especially if they are living in the city???  Poor babies.  Maybe they can't afford to live in the city?  Just like I can't afford to live in Short Hills or Jackson Hole or Aspen or on Riverside Dr.  I guess we all have to live within our fucking means and try to change our means if we are dissatisfied with how we are living.

Amazing, I have said it many times before and I will reiterate it here.  Right down the street there is a project housing complex....100% Section 8.  The satellite dishes ugly up the place to the extent that it makes it look like a military radar post.  Cable wires run all over the place.  Window unit air conditioners in most units.  People on cell phones.  Inside is there a tv?  Probably...right?  For all of those satellite dishes!  How about a computer and high speed internet.  Maybe an X-Box game system?  The people are dressed pretty well too.  I don't know...doesn't look that horrid to be in their shoes.  It isn't like they are digging for grubs and shitting in the woods.  They certainly don't look like the pictures we have of America during the Great Depression.  And yet, these people should get more?  Are you fucking kidding me?  Oh...these people should pay nothing?  Really?  They shouldn't work either??????  LOLOLOLOLOL no wonder why the U.S. is FUCKED.  Sure this is only one reason and there are many others but this is an issue that you liberal anchors refuse to meaningfully address.

So, you do not believe that people who are "poor" but not in poverty should have to pay the federal income tax and, in fact, should be subsidized by those who do pay?

Should it also depend upon where they live, and the cost of living?

50k in California, or New York is pretty low, in comparison.  In Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia or a bunch of other states, it can provide a pretty comfortable living.

For a single person? No. For someone with a kid? I'd say that's pretty hard.

True...Lucy just mucks up the board with her idiocy on issues relating to the U.S.  And I have heard other people ask why she is butting her nose into our business because she is not part of the solution...just a useless distraction.

BUT...and this is a big BUT...her entitlement mentality is prevalent in the U.S. and it is literally destroying this country.
