I liked Beamish.

Besides, both of the other sorts of Guiness (original and extra strong foreign export) piss all over the draught stuff. It's pretty good (and I drink it a lot) but is it really better than Murphy's or Gillespie's?
(The two Samuel Smith stouts, one of which is labelled as a porter, are great as well, and some of the microbrewed American ones are magnificent. Have you tried that Kalamazoo stuff?)

Ah well I've noticed draught Guinness can often be dodgy in the UK. I was surprised by it when I first drank draught Guinness there. They also don't let pints settle before topping it up AFAIK which is a bit of an outrage really.

Beamish is relatively poor though, seen by some as the poor man's stout. Murphy's is better but a bit too sweet for some. Haven't tried Kalamazoo. I've had a few specialist stouts from down the country made in specialist micro-brewries. Some are pretty good but I'm probably not a big enough stout drinker to appreciate them fully.

I really don't drink beer anymore as it gives me a tummy ache but I used to like a beer called "Harp" from Ireland I believe and also one from Mexico called "Pacifico Clara"

The legendary two pull pint. I've heard a lot of Irish folk complain about that...

they do one in uk called theakstons old peculiar which is strong and very sweet

however one very pop beer is fosters here cant stand the stuff like bath water

Stella Artois is readily available in Houston. However, in my trips to Belgium, Stella reminded me of Buweiser -- not particularly notable. There are far better brews in Belgium than Stella. Go for some of the abbey brews!! They will "know your socks off" -- but unfortunately, only availble in Belgium.

There is a better Czech beer than Pilsner Urquell. It is sold in US under the name Czechvar -- the original Czech brewery in Ceske Budejovice that Budweiser tried to buy some years ago.
Never been disappointed by Sam Adams.
In Texas: specialty brewery in Houston -- Saint Arnold. To be treasured. And one which doesn't seem to get the respect it deserves -- Shiner (the Spoetzl Brewery, the oldest independent brewery in Texas, located in the triangle between Houston-Austin-San Antonio, an area originally settled by a bunch of immigrants from Bohemia).
