Stella Artois is readily available in Houston. However, in my trips to Belgium, Stella reminded me of Buweiser -- not particularly notable. There are far better brews in Belgium than Stella. Go for some of the abbey brews!! They will "know your socks off" -- but unfortunately, only availble in Belgium. There is a better Czech beer than Pilsner Urquell. It is sold in US under the name Czechvar -- the original Czech brewery in Ceske Budejovice that Budweiser tried to buy some years ago. Never been disappointed by Sam Adams. In Texas: specialty brewery in Houston -- Saint Arnold. To be treasured. And one which doesn't seem to get the respect it deserves -- Shiner (the Spoetzl Brewery, the oldest independent brewery in Texas, located in the triangle between Houston-Austin-San Antonio, an area originally settled by a bunch of immigrants from Bohemia).
