Pardon my pointing out that there are more than a few adults who think there might be better places to look, and it's somewhat disappointing that you actually find such people to be not reasonable, by your standards.

I agree that is true. Think of the popular Religious Right "historian" David Barton - Points 1, 2 3, 4 7, 8 & 9 fit him to a T as a Pseudo-intellectual.

And think of the Pseudo-intellectuals who have based their entire way of life on Ayn Rand's "The Fountainhead" and "Atlas Shrugged" - ignoring almost every other book ever written and every other philosopher who ever lived.

Yes we did.

Well, as far as "putting on the air", that is a new phenomena, but for putting them in the public eye, that is as old as history, I'm afraid.

Putting them into office came about along with democracy.

Yeah his 8 years as a tremendously successful governor in CA that faced the same problems as the US was facing wasnt worthwhile experience.

Firm, please warn me before you quote something from that idiot. Ive been very successful in not seeing his tripe up to this point.

Yes, the corporate shill nonpareil was and will always be Reagan. He was all over radio and TV until he got elected governor, where time spent sending out the Cali SS to attack unfortunate constituents, and then back on the airwaves again until elected president.


I heard his late 70's radio shows alongside Paul Harvey's "Page Two."

I never listened for more than two minutes before tuning to the classical music station (an excellent one, in Spartanburg SC) or shoving in a cassette tape.

Of course I had no use for either's politics, Reagan especially having a record of sic'ing police on protesters in California (would this be perhaps what you refer to regarding that  temperament and experience thing, outside of the Death Valley Days and Boraxo host resume?), but at least Paul Harvey came up with some cute turn of phrase once every two or three weeks, whereas Reagan told us that trees caused pollution, and further tortured us elsewise.

Thank goodness for that classical music station in Spartanburg.

That post should have closed the deal! 8 years as Governor of the largest state population wise, with an economy that placed it in the top 10 IN THE WORLD vs a community organizer and "I vote absent" Senator for 3 months before he started his Presidential campaign. hmmmmmm let me think....which had more experience.
