I don't know...Clinton only served a term and a half as Senator and I think she would have been a good President.

I would have voted for Clinton over both Obama and McCain.

And even said so in the forums.

Alas ...

A term and a half is worlds apart from 3 months, plus she had 8 years in the Whitehouse where she was an integral part of policy decisions. She certainly couldnt have done a worse job than Obama, though interference from Willie might have caused some problems.

Willbur, I think you are confusing months with years.

Obama was sworn in to the Senate in January 2005 and resigned in November 2008.

Do you use ketchup or malt vinegar on those freedom fries?

I heard that some of them weird Canadians use mayo on them.

The major criticism of him were that he did not have the experience, nor the temperament to be the President of the US.
I think I agree, he's a deal maker at heart, he's all about the consensus. He should have stayed where he was, in time he would have been a major player in Congress, one sought out by all sides for his ability to throw together a deal. He could have been another Johnson and accomplished a lot of good.

But, as President, he has shown an inability to really lead, to stake out a position and stick to it. That is really the role of the POTUS in the legislative process, to challenge Congress to do things, not to be bickering in the back rooms over pork barreling, that's the Senate/House leaders' and party whips' job.

The bright side is I really don't think he's going to do much damage, which is fortunate, because I foresee a 2nd term for him as pretty much a given right now, the other side just doesn't have anything to offer that is as good as he is. Not so much the lesser of two evils as the lesser of two incompetents. A really sad observation, when you think about it

I hate to admit this, but I dipped my fries in almost everything imaginable, even before I had attained any awareness as to how un-Amercan it was to do so or having any political awareness at all. But then, just when I had come back into the fold and stuck with store-bought ketchup, one of my Nürnberg geboren (Nurenberg born) German language instructors suggesting the mayo thing only confirmed my suspicion about those European commies.

He started his (unoffical) campaign for POTUS in mid 05. Actually it began with his DNC speech in 04, but he had to win the Senate seat first. Im not confused about anything.

Firm, please warn me before you quote something from that idiot. Ive been very successful in not seeing his tripe up to this point.

Sorry, will.

I've not interacted with him much, and haven't yet formed a "final opinion" on whether the gom jabber would take him out of this firmament.

That post should have closed the deal! 8 years as Governor of the largest state population wise, with an economy that placed it in the top 10 IN THE WORLD vs a community organizer and "I vote absent" Senator for 3 months before he started his Presidential campaign. hmmmmmm let me think....which had more experience.

So you are saying then that Reagan actually created the the top ten economy in the world, not that the already-in-place top ten economy in the world's corporate masters saw what they liked on the television and found a priceless puppet for their purpose?

The guy was so cheap and falling-over-himself anxious to the cause; who could turn that down?

Pay the man!

Put him in office!

No, he's saying that Reagan had more relevant experience than Obama, an irrefutable fact. Even a rudimentary command of English would have made that obvious.

No question, it is an irrefutable fact that Reagan had much more experience sucking corporate dick than Obama ever did.

The fact that you find this to be "more relevant" is possibly more instructive than you might wish to allow.

He has a rudimentary command of English, he just thinks he can make up nonsense or snark his way to credibility.
