quote:
Question - every generation lives a little longer than the previous one, at least in developed countries. Do you think there is a limit to the length of time we will live? If so, what will those limiting factors be? I don't believe there is an absolute limit, no; but, I do believe there is a limit, in that, eventually - even though there is no scientific explanation for WHY it happens - the body begins to wrinkle, organs begin to shut down, bones get weaker, etc. And, even in the cases of people who remain fairly healthy, it appears that some of them simply get tired of living, and, decide to die. It's not suicide, it's just .. time to go. So, apparently, the limiting factors are, whatever your body gets up to and whatever your spirit gets up to. Obviously, things such as pollution (air, water, of our bodies) makes a difference, though. Though, as a side note, I have to say that I haven't noticed that the generations are living longer in America, since I have known several people who lost their children to diseases, cancers, etc. My grandmother only fairly recently died, and, most of her grandchildren were already experiencing some of the infirmities that go with sliding into old age, some of her children were already dead. Maybe over all that is true, so I'm not arguing the point, but, speaking of personal observation.
