Despite what so many moonbats parrot this 'mess' did not start with Bush....it has been growing for many many years.....every eight year adminstration since carter has added aproxmentely 1/2 trillion dollars to the amount already being spent. And now this admin. Has TRIPPLED that amount in less than 3 years!! Our gov. has instuted their own automatic payraises. They set up automatic increases for each and every agency. And they want to spend more on top lot all the automatic increases! Top that off with the gov. promising people double the going private pay with benifits.....and they want to add more people to the payroll...... Eventually a country ends up like Greece...borrowing so much they cannot pay the intrest....... Then what?

If you were capable of reading the financial pages you would know that Treasuries continued to sell at stable or even higher prices. There was no concern about raising the debt ceiling because its an arbitrary number. The debt ceiling had to be raised because of SPENDING that was committed to. Ratings agencies are concerned about how much of GDP goes to principal and interest payments and whether there is enough revenue to support those levels. That is a SPENDING issue, not a debt ceiling issue.
