As for your other claims about qualifying, you might want to google. Qual ranges atart at 50 yds and work up


The recruits are issued 50 rounds of ammunition and fire from 200, 300 and 500 meters. Each round is worth up to five points based on where the round strikes the target. The maximum point value that can be scored is 250 points. Based on the final score, a marksmanship badge is awarded to each Marine. The minimum score to qualify is 190 points. Any recruit that is not able to achieve this minimum score will be kept in this training phase until they can qualify or they are dropped from recruit training permanently. A score of 190 to 205 is awarded a Marksman Badge, a score of 206 to 219 will earn you a Sharpshooter Badge and a score of 220 to 250 will earn you the highly prized Expert Marksman Badge.

Your link above says nothing about the size of the bull. Im guessing the target is standard military silhouette taget with 150 mm bullseye so your expert is shooting 6" groups which is good enough every time but it might be a 100 mm bull so that's 4" or a heart shot.

Standard silhouette is a "D" target and is 26" shoulder to shoulder which is the average size of a human being shoulder to shoulder....perhaps that is why it is called a silhouette target. That would be more than 625mm...not 100 mm. You never were in the military were you?

As for you claim of 3" at 1000 yards. Even shipers get credit in school for hitting a life sized sillohouette anywhere in the head/torso at 1000 so Im callin you full of shit there too lad.

My Army marksmanship scores suffered because I was more interested in the pretty tracks the tracers left in nightfire exercises than scoring. I think the last time I fired a weapon was when I missed a target and killed an armadillo with an M16, lol.
