ORIGINAL: Lucylastic so you think the current list of wannabes is so bad that you feel that someone is just waiting in the wings to blast them all to hell? I dont have your confidence Rich. Maybe you missed it, Lucy, but the gorilla in the wings has allowed his staff to make it official. Rick Perry will be announcing he's running this weekend. If you're not familiar with the 3-term Governor of Texas, you'll despise him soon enough, I'm sure. He's going to make the proggies foam at the mouth, but if I had to place a bet right now, I'd say he's going to be the nominee. He isn't my first pick, but I try not to bet with my heart. quote:
Im not surprised his ratings are low, are you?? considering the economy, the job situation and the clusterfuck with housing and mortgages and wall street, its a hugest clusterfuck EVER and no one else is trying to put it together, of course his numbers are bad. No one else could have made any of it better, and probably would have made it a lot worse. Oh I disagree very strongly with you here, Lucy. Check out the Westen piece in last weekend's NYT. President Obama is very much part of the problem. We have badly gimped up economy, international instability, and a leader of the free world who can't lead his way out of a wet paper bag. Instead he's still reminding us of what all he inherited, and the answer is, "yeah, and you were supposed to fix it." Americans don't care much for whiners, who won't accept responsibility. That's what is bringing those numbers down. That said, I still think the election is Obama's to lose. Incumbency has its advantages, the template of class warfare and "push granny off the cliff," Republican extremism is already in place, and the race card that Obama has not personally played might be a big enough trump. We'll have to wait and see where we go from here, huh?
