Hey, think about this you got time. How does anyone agree to anything that is a lesser situation than they have now?

How does one agree to be laid off? Oh, people jump up and raise their fucking hands en masse at that one, don't they, saying. "I'm all in!!!".

They were forced? By circumstance?

Here, lets see how american and upright you are and whether you are full of shit as a christmas goose or not .....

quit posting, you are not capable of cogent thought.

(now, you going to volunteer or would you have to be 'forced'?)

we shall see.

You are making something out of nothing.

mnottertail -> RE: Dems fall short in Wisconsin (8/12/2011 6:52:21 AM)

Hey, even better I see Verizon is in a strike now, why don't you retirees open up your contracts and help the poor bastards out, do a little give back?

Or would you have to be forced to do so? I expect to see your plea to do so in the nightly news.

How very (somehow) un-American of you.

DomYngBlk -> RE: Dems fall short in Wisconsin (8/12/2011 6:56:19 AM)

Definite WIN for the Democrats. Couple this with the beat back of SB5 in Ohio....and the whole anti-union brigade is coming to a halt....

Sanity -> RE: Dems fall short in Wisconsin (8/12/2011 7:23:47 AM)

A lot of fat cat union bosses riding around in their Cadillacs and living high on the hog have way too much to lose to let union dues money go where theyre supposed to be going

mnottertail -> RE: Dems fall short in Wisconsin (8/12/2011 7:28:36 AM)

Well, we see on another thread that 90K a year is not alot of money, and the fat cat governor and legislature of wisconsin run around in limousines, and fat cat lobbyists and CEOs and other corporate management are extremely put upon these days, hard to make a go of it when you only get 138 million a year before bonus and stock options......

I hear you brother.

servantforuse -> RE: Dems fall short in Wisconsin (8/12/2011 8:32:49 AM)

The Wisconsin legislature and the governor do not run around in limousines. The gov has an SUV driven by a state patrol officer. Members of the legislature drive their own cars and get reimbursed for mileage.

mnottertail -> RE: Dems fall short in Wisconsin (8/12/2011 8:35:14 AM)

Oh, way different then. So the teachers are squired around by in SUVs driven by a state patrol officer, or at the very least are reimbursed for their milage, while they are living a string of Fat Tuesdays?

servantforuse -> RE: Dems fall short in Wisconsin (8/12/2011 8:40:22 AM)

Every govornor in the country has a driver, usually a member of law enforcement. Nothing new here. The governor of Wisconsin makes $137,000 a year. I guess in a jealous liberals mind, that is a fat cat millionair.

mnottertail -> RE: Dems fall short in Wisconsin (8/12/2011 8:44:32 AM)

compared to say the fat cat union bosses making?

or say compared to the fat cat teachers who they want to force to revote the union every year and end their collective bargaining rights?

Yeah, I suppose you are right, jealous nazis on the right..........

Sanity -> RE: Dems fall short in Wisconsin (8/12/2011 8:45:01 AM)

Odd how theres usually little or no money in a union strike fund for the workers benefit but theres always plenty of money to buy elections laying around

YEAH, WORKS THAT WAY in triplicate with corporations, no jobs money, no raises, ship everything to cheap and shoddy manufacturing, but by god, whatever they need to elect corporate stooges to office ......

housesub4you -> RE: Dems fall short in Wisconsin (8/12/2011 9:43:38 AM)

Vs the 37 million the GOP dumped into the state for this election, they out spent everyone.

Besides, there is another round next week, and several GOPers in Wi have stated they are more willing to move to the middle.

So if the DEMS keep their seats next week, they will only be 1 seat short and with several people saying they would support changes to Walker agenda things aren't as bad as some make them out to be

This really backfired on them. You know why? Because the only people who support unions private or public are people who belong to them or have a spouse who does.

Not only that 2 democrats are up for recall elections next week. I'll bet one of them goes down.

Unions are dead. Why should public sector employees have taxpayer funded retirement plan that no one else has. If Social Security is all that everyone else has, then it should be good enough for them.

1) Public sector employees pay for their retirement benefits themselves. If there's a match/contribution from the employer, THAT IS PART OF THEIR BENEFIT PACKAGE. Their "Total Compensation". Once you pay them, it's not taxpayer money anymore.

2) I work in the private sector... At a bank. We have PENSION plan... AND A 401K PLAN.... In addition to Social Security.

If Social Security is all YOU can count on, that's your own damn fault.

APNewsBreak: Some unions to skip 2012 convention

WASHINGTON (AP) -- More than a dozen trade unions plan to sit out the 2012 Democratic convention because of their anger over the site of the meeting in a right-to-work state and their frustration over Democrats' struggles to create jobs.

If unions don't participate, it would deprive the party of millions of dollars that would have been spent on sky boxes and other sponsorships that usually help underwrite the convention. The move could pose a larger problem for President Barack Obama next year if an increasingly dispirited base of labor activists becomes so discouraged that it doesn't get the rank-and-file to the polls in its usual strong numbers.

How many times do I have to explain that I am not anti union ? As a union member I payed a portion of my health care benefits and am still doing so as a retiree. I also funded my own 401K. I see nothing wrong with state employees also paying a portion to get these benefits. Why are they the only ones to get a free ride on the backs of all of us ?

Fine, so just increase their base salary, so that they can make up the contribution they're not getting anymore from their employer. Why should they take a SALARY CUT?
