ThatsMissBitch -> Extreme Play? (8/11/2011 9:24:58 PM)

I don’t consider myself an extreme player.

But many people that have watched me, both on the giving end and the receiving end, do.

A few of the things that I enjoy using in a scene are needles, knives, scalpels, fire, electrical devices, whips, bondage equipment, canes, and a assortment of impact toys.

So I am wondering what other consider extreme in the area of play.

slaveluci -> RE: Extreme Play? (8/11/2011 9:32:41 PM)

Well, I don't think it's those things/activities that are extreme in and of themselves necessarily, it's all in how you use/do them. Fire is something I haven't messed with and have no desire to but I suppose I'd consider that more extreme than anything else on your list. That and breath play (which I love) make my list among others........luci

Icarys -> RE: Extreme Play? (8/11/2011 9:36:06 PM)

I used to make a girlfriend, that was a contortionist, chomp down 4 ghost chilli's and lick her own vagina. Does that count?

Good point. One of the things I do with the scalpels is body art. Carvings of pictures or designs in the flesh of the "victim". It is not permenent but deep enough that it last a few months.

The needles are usually artisitc. Corsets on the back tied with ribbon, sometimes decorations glued to the end of the needles. I also enjoy "sewing" beads on people. But sometimes I just like poking people LOL.

My whips like most of my toys can caress the skin or rip it open depending on who I am playing with. I really like the rip you open part.

The fire includes cupping, and branding and some great fun with fire sticks.

Funny you should mention it.  The stuff that is on your list is on My list, too.  Since there are forms of play on it that some folks would consider edge play, you're going to have some people that consider you an extreme player.

In My opinion, the smart way to handle this is to get folks acquainted with the fact that you are a more extreme player, but not a reckless one.  If you're active in your community or play publicly, be willing to talk with other folks about the precautions that you take and how you minimize your risks.  Step up and be an educator.  The next time the groups in your area are looking for presenters (which is darn near always) be willing to do demos.  Fire, electric, cupping, and needles in particular.  You'll inspire at least one person in the group to want to do what you do.  Being willing to teach makes all of the difference in the world.

LOL that is evil. Ginger root is fun too. Small slices, insert where ever.

Thank you LadyPact I already do demos locally and safety tips and risk awarness are always a part of them. I do enjoy teaching others about the types of play I most enjoy.

Missokyst -> RE: Extreme Play? (8/11/2011 10:00:12 PM)

Those are some of the toys in my bag, along with others to up the ante a bit. I don't regard it as extreme at all.
Needles.. eh. No biggie and only really good when adding electricity in my mind. LOL now skewers.. That would be extreme to me! No thanks. I am not that big of a maso

Then, why is this an issue for you?

Epytropos -> RE: Extreme Play? (8/11/2011 10:10:32 PM)

Internet exhibitionism. How droll.

littlewonder -> RE: Extreme Play? (8/11/2011 10:11:20 PM)

my experience has been that anything beyond floggers and light tap caning is considered extreme by most people and definitely by newbies.

There is no issue I don't understand where you got that from. It was simply a topic to see what others consider extreme.

LadyPact -> RE: Extreme Play? (8/11/2011 10:19:49 PM)

It bothered you enough to create a topic.  Or, are you an insomniac like Me and just bored out of your skull?

LOL well I am an insomniac and probably bored too but I really just wanted to see other peoples idea of extreme. The boards were boring the chat rooms even more boring and I like discussions.

coookie -> RE: Extreme Play? (8/11/2011 10:34:12 PM)

I think anything that draws blood is pretty extreme but then some people think some of the humiliation scenes that i think are hot are extreme. It is all subjective.

i read it as simple curiosity. The OP did say you did things that other people saw as extreme, that you *didn't*. But you didn't seem to be pitching the idea that you were extreme, or not, or those activities were extreme, or not. It seemed to me that you were just asking a question about what other people viewed as extreme, without attaching any judgement to the question.

To answer the question, i view any play that could cause someone to pass out as pretty extreme. Which, in my case, makes a lot of play seem pretty extreme. i'm a wus like that.

whipher1 -> RE: Extreme Play? (8/11/2011 10:57:49 PM)

BS no your not a wus
maybe you use to be but not any more !!!

SailingBum -> RE: Extreme Play? (8/11/2011 11:00:02 PM)

If you were to ask 100 ppl to define extreme you would get 100 different answers..... That is your answer.

stoni23 -> RE: Extreme Play? (8/12/2011 5:41:48 AM)

Boy SailingBum, I've been on these threads for like 3 days and haven't heard of you. Then all of a sudden I wake up and you're at the bottom of every post with a negative, sarcastic remark. I can understand as a few people on here have some silly posts and are just demanding attention, but a lot of the people on here are sincere. Why be so rude to someone that you don't know for no reason? It's remarks and attitudes like these that give BDSM a bad name. The community should be forgiving and welcoming to all, not rude and sarcastic.

And usually your post really provides no substance whatsoever to the arguments therein. What's the deal?

In response to this thread:
ThatsMissBitch: I would consider some of your play to be extreme as it's loosely described, but as someone mentioned above, it's really how you do it that makes it extreme. I've been cut before, and while I did not enjoy it (cutting is not really my thing), I did not consider it extreme.... and I have a heart shape with a B in it scar on my ass cheek to prove it lol.

I used to consider needles pretty extreme, but when you really look at what's happening in your skin, it's not that big of a deal. Fire play can be very extreme, but fire cupping (when performed correctly) is quite safe. I don't consider any electrical devices to be extreme, just misunderstood. But I can see how anybody without any previous electrical experience would consider electrical play to be extreme (unless you're talking cattle prods, which are extreme :) ).

LillyBoPeep -> RE: Extreme Play? (8/12/2011 5:58:02 AM)

for me, things that leave permanent marks or draw lots of blood are generally what i consider extreme, but of course, an artistic cutting really isn't setting out to be "extreme," even though it is bloody. so i guess it depends.
i've never done any actual cuttings even though i like knife play. and i'm not terribly fond of needles.
i've heard of people playing around with guns; i think i'd consider that extreme.
but electrical play (like what are you talking about? "electrical" is a wide umbrella), fire, knives, whips, canes, etc don't seem like extreme things to me. people use them a lot around here.
