DO they keep figures on how many people have died because of that?

tazzygirl -> RE: Appeals court rules against Obama healthcare law (8/13/2011 7:25:20 PM)

They stated 18000 die each year due to lack of health care. Im not sure how you would measure deaths related to a closure.

Nor is there any way to legitimately assess how many die "due to lack of health care".

Appeals court rules against Obama healthcare law

(Reuters) - An appeals court ruled Friday that President Barack Obama's healthcare law requiring Americans to buy healthcare insurance or face a penalty was unconstitutional, a blow to the White House.

I hope the whole healthcare bill is repealed and re-engineered in ways that make the entire system more efficient. There are some things I like about the bill, and some things I do not like about the bill.

The individual mandate was a stupid Heritage Foundation/Republican idea that Obama thought would be palatable to the Republicans if HE proposed it. (His naivete some times floors me) It is a flawed bill, that distracted congress from focusing on our economy. (Basically... wrong bill, wrong time)

I would consider that a conservative estimate, willbe.

He`s won about as many as he`s lost.

Cons aren`t so concerned with the law as they are in hearing that "Obama lost".

It`ll be up to the SCOTUS, sometime soon.

It`s interesting that the folks who don`t want their tax money going to paying for other people`s health care, are against this law.

It`s the people who use ERs and other medical services and don`t pay, that this law targets.

It`s to offset the money states give hospitals, who are required to give care whether or not the patient can pay.

Making the free-loaders pay is a con-mantra,after all.

A core conservative value,is personal responsibility. Right?

Can we have a con explain this apparent contradiction?

What contradiction would you like explained? Being opposed to a law that targets those who don't pay and personal responsibility? Is that it Owner?

So let's see, we have supposed people with no personal responsibility, and those who do. So to force the one's who don't into responsibility, we enact a law we say targets them that forces a mandate of buying on virtually every adult in America, even those who had responsibility in the first place.  And we do it in a fashion where we ram it through out of fear we'll get our asses handed to us and won't be able to afterwards. And we do it in a way that changes the wording of the Constitution from essentially regulating to requiring.

Is that the contradiction you want explained?

tazzygirl -> RE: Appeals court rules against Obama healthcare law (8/14/2011 4:27:26 PM)

When you can explain how we can tell people at an ER door they arent entitled to health care because they dont have insurance or the means to self-pay, then I may agree with you... not until then.

When you can support a law that doesn't rewrite the Constitution, I may agree with you too, but not until then.

tazzygirl -> RE: Appeals court rules against Obama healthcare law (8/15/2011 4:44:50 AM)

The Constitution has been "rewritten" many times.

You know damn well what he meant. Will the somewhat honest TG please take over her brain again.

tazzygirl -> RE: Appeals court rules against Obama healthcare law (8/15/2011 1:13:00 PM)

I am being honest.  Since the original signing of the Constitution many parts have been changed, rewritten or altered in some form to fit the changes within the country itself.

I would think even to you that would be evident.

slvemike4u -> RE: Appeals court rules against Obama healthcare law (8/15/2011 1:27:27 PM)

And why would you think that?
Seriously,I am curious...why would you presuppose willbur is being honest in any way shape or form in a political discussion....the mans history is full of bullshit, grandiose claims and outright lies.

Every law is a re-writing of the constitution.

tazzygirl -> RE: Appeals court rules against Obama healthcare law (8/15/2011 1:39:33 PM)

Exactly, Master Ron.  The Constitution was set up to be rewritten.

Because, as nasty as willbe can be towards me, at times he does see through the rhetoric, mike.

FatDomDaddy -> RE: Appeals court rules against Obama healthcare law (8/15/2011 2:43:53 PM)

Fast reply here.... but its pretty clear, if this Health Care Law is up held buy the Supreme Court and the Federal Government can force citizens to purchase health insurance, then the Federal and State Government
will the also be able force welfare and food stamp recipients to work for their benefits.

Something tells me that is something that will have the liberals howling.

Your voices inside your head have a disconnect with reality, whoever is telling you that in amongst the wind howling and the cigarette and gum wrappers blowing around in there should stop.

This is one liberal who would love to see that change.  Able to work, then do so, or go to school and learn a trade.

Why would I howl about that?

New laws rewrite the constitution all the time, willbe.
