Not historic enough, he was only 2nd. The Iowa vote won't be any closer to the final result than it was last time. Remember Huckabee was the surprise 2nd place finisher last time and McCain wasn't even there.

RP always does well in straw polls. When it comes to the real thing, not so much.

Okay, I've admitted I'm not that savvy when it comes to politics so if someone wouldn't mind explaining where these particular numbers have come from to say he came in second. The one I saw had an entirely different outcome. May not be a credible source but that kinda leads me to my actual point and question. What WOULD be the most respected poll to glean info from? The straw poll is a "pre-Iowa caucus" litmus test, nothing more. Romney won it last year and Huckabee won the caucus. It means nothing, since it doesnt commit any delegates.

Romney, Huntsman, and Perry didn't go on the ballot, figuring that they could lose cred but not gain it. So Pawlenty finishing a distant third hurt him. For God's sake, Santorum finished fourth. Everyone else is a clear loser.

If the RNC and their media arm fuxnews had left Dr. Paul alone,not worked against him,he very well could have been the nominee.
