isnt this really a bit like winning a "who is the best kisser" vote for people with no lips>?
I mean its not indicative of actual voting predictions is it

Not historic enough, he was only 2nd.

The Iowa vote won't be any closer to the final result than it was last time.  Remember Huckabee was the surprise 2nd place finisher last time and McCain wasn't even  there.

RP always does well in straw polls. When it comes to the real thing, not so much.

This means NOTHIG. Get it through your head. I could get three hundred million votes for me to be President, and I would either not be President or I would be DEAD.

DO YOU FUCKING UNDERSTAND ?

There is only one way out of this shit, need I say i t again ? (actually for members who might not have seen because they are more recent inductees, say the word and I will put it out here) There is only one way, the rest i s all a bunch of shit.

But I won't bore you all with it unless someone needs to read it.

Okay, I've admitted I'm not that savvy when it comes to politics so if someone wouldn't mind explaining where these particular numbers have come from to say he came in second.

The one I saw had an entirely different outcome. May not be a credible source but that kinda leads me to my actual point and question. What WOULD be the most respected poll to glean info from?

Not only did this show a huge difference but I watched it and it sure as hell looked like RP was most well received.

Your link is on the debate, the numbers on him coming in second in the straw poll come from RPs website. The straw poll is a "pre-Iowa caucus" litmus test, nothing more. Romney won it last year and Huckabee won the caucus. It means nothing, since it doesnt commit any delegates.

Commentary: http://swampland.time.com/2011/08/12/the-overhyped-underwhelming-iowa-gop-straw-poll/?hpt=hp_t2

It gives Bachmann and Paul just a little more cred.  Romney, Huntsman, and Perry didn't go on the ballot, figuring that they could lose cred but not gain it.

So Pawlenty finishing a distant third hurt him.  For God's sake, Santorum finished fourth.  Everyone else is a clear loser.

Yeah, you know why ? Because the sheeple will not give up the goods, what is taken from taxpayers. People vote for what they can get.

Willy, you and I disagree on alot of shit and we each think the other an asshole, but do a fucking Google search for Horatio Bunce. You think you are conservative ? You are nothing like these motherfuckers in the past. It would most likely blow your brain. If you are as bad ass as you think you are, post the story here, in this thread and clear this shit up.

If the RNC and their media arm fuxnews had left Dr. Paul alone, not worked against him,he very well could have been the nominee.

Just how many republicans showed up to Ron Paul`s counter convention during the actual RNC convention?

Talk about embarrassing. The way his own party fucked him.

And talk about humiliating, for his own party.

You goddamn right because you have no idea. I would let people starve. No shit.

But what you and most of the sheepulace in this country fails to understand is that NOT letting people starve or die is what gives them POWER. Think of what " a chicken in every pot" did for FDR. I see this shit and I see it for what it is, and I don't hate your millionaire ass, in fact I think it's cool that someone like you, who knows how to play the system, is also a member here.

I actually know who you are by the shit you have said, but it doesn't matter, privacy on this board is of prime inportance. Oh you can say " I am just a .........", but I know. But it doesn't matter.

But towards the end, I think your views will come closer to mine, rather than the other way around. You may live to see a different way, to change your mind. There is something wrong with the one you have. So what.

So what.

I have to agree with Canadian libertarian Stefan Molyneux (philosopher, host of freedomainradio.com): It is too late for Ron Paul. The Titanic has hit the iceberg and it is going down. Whoever gets on the captain seat will get the blame for failure.
