If you are referring to issues related to why a religious faction has become this extremist at this point in time, then I'm all for the study of this. There are definitely political reasons behind it, but the I think that much has already been uncovered by historians about what happens when there is extremist fundamentalism. We should also look at other religious extremist If you are wanting to conduct studies with the hopes of discriminating against nationalities, religious beliefs or ethnicities, then you've got some serious fear-inpired biggoted issues to deal with.

Discovery or the BBC have a nice docu series about the live of Mohammed. From the western world and the Islamic world...scholars/professors and religious people talk about the Islam. And they all agree on the fact that the words of the Koran were fitting for the times of the crusade, but it is now abused by the bad guys. Watching the series gives you a way more positive look at the religion. Refreshing.

Mohammad did not write the Koran, which began with the writings of Moses, and, was full of rules, and, included the prophecy about the coming of Jesus and how to tell when to expect the Messiah as well as how to tell who he was. Probably most of them are very good, peaceful people and they will be judged, not on what the ignorant blood thirsty few do, but, on what they, as individuals do. Most Muslims, whether they care to study and consider the teachings of the Christ or not, are quite willing to live in peace, in tolerance, with Jews and Christians. So are most Jews and Christians willing to live in peace and tolerance with each other and Muslims. It's a matter of being brave enough to stand up to those who would twist the teachings and act "in the name of God" in a manner that God has always proclaimed as evil and unjust.

I have known many Christians in my life... so far, & I dont fear them nor do they fear me. Lets go back 1 month ago ( I am sorry to bring this back) but when the Oslo attack happen the Media over come with a (Muslim attack), I breathed a sigh of relief when it was not an (Islamic act), one of the Iraqies refugees there told me that when that attack happened, there was a bouch of them near that place, they rush there to rescue the injured. my point is if the attacker was arab (arab but not muslim) the media will go mad about islam once more, & the war against Islam will be re-ignited. on the other hand, he was a right, & there was a (small amount of action) in that matter. Algebra was not invented by (Arabs or muslims) we all know that, but Every civilization in the ancient world toke some knowlege (if not all) from the past civilization & they try to improve it in all ways, Muslims Conquered most parts of India, they got to the borders of china, & they improve the knowlege they come through, just like the ancient persia. now there is a fear that egypt will become (Islamic state) in the west world, but there was not fear from (Jewish state) or it will never be a fear from it. Please have in mind that if the ME was not rich in oil, there will not be that much fear from Islam, just because there is some people who would like to let the ME area under ... Dictatorship, & giving the west that oil or gas or even (iron in Tunisia) for just trash mony. I remember that (Mr. hussian was approve the oil for Food) he would rather get food for it & not money...... how cheap is that. in that era the oil prices was very very low... I wounder why? I have treated by Christians in the past & have nothing but respect for them, & some people fear what they dont understand.
