As opposed to conservatives which you are fine with. Of course, you are middle of the road and don't lean one way or another. Fucking nose growing yet?

You just hate anyone who either has more than you do, or disagrees with you.

That makes life much easier, I'm told.  You don't have actually ...well, yanno, get to know people as individuals or actually listen to what they say (other than so you can find some shit to pound them with)

Once you have identified a group as worthy as hate, you can just send 'em all to the ovens.  Easy peasy!

Firm

Conservatives aren't in power dy. Four years ago, dems took over congress. I didn't have a problem with that. In fact, I even voted for a few of them. Two years ago they added the presidency to their grasp, and the instant they did, they started doing same shit the other side had done, just on the flip side. What I like best is power split. Now they get going and start again like they have some kind of mandate from the American people, I'll probably be here on your side more often.

I say that because both sides have proven themselves unfit to govern. When I find someone who actually gives a shit about the country, who governs from a mid-point that ignores the fringes, then I'll stay behind them to the bitter end. Until then, I'll play among the flakes on this side. And fortunately, there are plenty of them.

I dunno. Maybe I missed something but you haven't taken a shot at anything conservative that I've noticed. Course, maybe I don't notice well.

By the way...I have a question that I'm hoping some of you can answer since we are talking a little about Christianity and politics.  Now that the definition of marriage has been expanded to include gays in New York State, why can't I marry two girls?  I have been in triadic relationships since college and I have been in long term relationships with bisexual girls that loved each other as well as me.  But I couldn't marry them....and I still can't.  I don't think that's fair.

You can indeed legally marry one of them. (And you can religiously marry as many as your religion will allow)

Sorry... I don't buy into this hyperbole of monogamous gay marriage = to any other kind of domestic relationship (i.e. polygamy, bestiality, etc.) Recognizing monogamous homosexual marriages as family units is good public policy. It promotes a family unit, and solid footing for the members.

"Plural" marriage as the LDS folks call it, is not good public policy. It does not foster a sense of family. (IMO)

I disagree with you if there is a moderate amount of people involved. The problem is where to draw the line. What I've read about LDS in "The 19th Wife" seemed well over the line. So, is two wives ok? What about 20? As many as you can financially support? Just gets too sticky.

If you have first hand experience with a number of the people you are finding those feelings about, then there is nothing you can proactively do about it. If you dont have first hand experience, and are only reading things, then remember that your sources are almost certainly speaking with an agenda. Discount them, ignore them, whatever, because you arent really reacting to the people but to fiction.

That's probably closest to the truth of it...people like the Westboro Baptist Church make headlines, and headlines sell news.

Thank you all for your replies, you've given me a lot to think about :)
