Ok, Dick Cheney. He seems to be running the car over everyone that is in his own Party. That was with him for those 8 years. What is that about?

With the book? Not sure. Grim Reaper has a hand on his shoulder so I don't think that is it. Already made enough off his defense buddies to last two lifetimes.

Dom, I think you underestimate greed. The Oil companies are the most profitable companies on the planet, and they STILL make the government subsidize them.

So yeah, I'm guessing money. Also a chance to settle a few scores.

maybe he's pissed off because he didn't get enough fucking credit and asskissing, maybe he's pissed off because he didn't get to hand pick the repub candidate last time round. maybe he's pissed that liz wasn't tapped for the nomination this time.

or maybe he's just feeling that hand on his shoulder and is coming clean, wouldn't that be a cool fucking turn of events eh?

Yeah probably. And settling scores. But, I didn't think he needed to settle with Rice or Powell

Here's how I explain Chaney, although the VP needs no explanation. Yet another man better for the job than your Dear Leader. You ought to focus on what your idiotic Dear Leader is doing to the country.

ABM has a habit of 'rant and run'. Prob is that his rants have fuck all to do with the OP.

I think Cheney's backstabbing leads back to one thing. Unmitigated greed. Even with the grim reaper hugging him, he will still be trying to squeeze a buck out.

what the fuck for, there's fuck all we can do about it at 9 am on a wednesday morning in august? why can't we have a little fucking fun speculating about the puppet master's motives. like him or hate him cheney is the most interesting personality in american politics in a long fucking time. he's the cardinal richelieu of america, the eminence grise lurking behind the throne for the last 20 odd years.

fucking fascinating guy, i personally can't wait to read his book.

Everyone has different tastes. But, he contradicts even Dubya's accounts of events in the book it would seem. Why kick Powell around like that after all this time. I admit that it is pretty confusing

Because when one has the opportunity to write a tell-all book, the one's he'll tell all about more so than anyone else are those he didn't like the most. Powell and Cheney went head to head all the time. There wasn't much like in either for the other.

I liked Powell. I was hoping to see him on the ticket last time. Apparently he's too smart to do anything as stupid as run for president though.

Think maybe it had to do with Cheney being the 'team' player and thinking that rice and powell weren't?

I think the two of them offset each other. Personally, I wouldn't have minded having Cheney as a VP and Powell as my Secretary of State. I'd have gotten opposing opinions, and looked for balance between them. As opposed to now, I'd hate having Biden as a VP, but wouldn't mind Clinton as Secretary of State. Biden comes off as a complete idiot. I'd be embarrassed to have him running around representing me.

i don't think cheney was a team player, i think he was the one running the fucking show - or at least he thought he ought to be, and maybe rice and powell didn't feel beholden to him and so didn't toe the line to suit him.

i mean he pretty fucking much had bush in his pocket, did you ever see the two of them speaking at the same time?

Powell is one of these guys who loved the look and feel of those pin stripe suits those boys in State like to wear. He loved getting interviewed by Katie and Matt and wanted so much to say the right things and get invited to the right parties. General, thanks for your service, but stick with o'dingdong. You are just another RINO... maybe huntsman will hang out with you and the two of you can be the token "republicans" MSNBC interviews. Problems is nobody watches MSNBC.
