There's substance to all his speeches, Wilbur.  Of course, that substance is very similar to what the dogs leave piles of, out in the yard.

Besides, what he says in his speeches has nothing to do with what he actually winds up doing, anyway.

There is no need to discredit him, he does a fine job of that all by himself. This latest gaffe is typical of the incompetents in his administration.

Mr. Obama has responded by email over this:

http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/washington/2011/08/obama-jobs-speech-warning-to-congress.html

quote:

Other than the chief executive's threats and the lousy job performance review of both parties, it looks like Obama and Congress are in for a really nice working relationship in coming months.

Perhaps this will be the new Thunder Dome!

With all the drama over the NFL this year, this being the first game between two great teams... I can't believe his PR people are letting him do this.
It is just such a bad move.
But then again, maybe he doesn't want everyone watching it, in which case.. good move?

Wasn't his idea to give it on Thursday. That date was given to him by Boehner.

Sanity -> RE: No, that doesn't work for us. (9/1/2011 3:51:50 AM)

So... Obama bows to Boehner?  [:D]

Actually, no - not quite. Though Boehner did tell him to fuck off when his royal highness dictated that his speech before a joint session of congress must occur at the exact time as the Republican debate, which has been scheduled in that time slot for months...

We can send the message that the American people are playing by the rules and meeting their responsibilities -- and it's time for our leaders in Congress to meet theirs. And we must hold them accountable if they don't.

He has revealed his election strategy ... he's going to run against Congress.

Seems to me that if the Republicans believe they will win by a landslide.. which is what you keep insinuating... they wouldnt care when Obama gives his speech.

So, while the good ole boys snicker and giggle in the background, the message they are sending out is clear.

We want a jobs bill. We want something on the table. Oh, you have one? It will have to wait.

Interesting move.... bet I know how that pans out. Telling the american public they have to wait to see what happens next while they are still unemployed.

If he really had a serious jobs bill he could have had it printed and sent to Congress already. He's the one making the unemployed wait. Of course since we know there is no such thing as a real "jobs bill" their wait will have been for nothing.

There is no such thing as a jobs bill, remember? As far as an ENABLING job creation bill, that was passed in the House months ago. thats where it is.
