Personally I am a little offended by being asked my skin colour at all. It is pretty much the single least important aspect of a person.

Cultural background? How does the colour of one's skin relate to that in any way? Is a caucasian from Canada in any way culturally related to a caucasian from Russia or Peru?

I actually hate the whole ethnicity thing. We now live in a world were everyone(or almost everyone) says not to be racists. Don't judge folks because of colour, background, economics, etc. If people really want that to happen they should stop putting tags that are based on race on themselves. On forms I normally write in "None of the above" (there is only one I actually fill out) even though I do know my background I don't see what it matters on most things.
