Paul hung him in the garden, and then plagiarized the "Love Is Patient" parallels. The New Testament is a cover-up of what really happened. "Thou shalt not spare the rod." Too many "Christians" use this as justification to hit children. What do panhandlers often ask? "Can you spare a dime?" If spare means to allow, or give, that statement becomes, "Thou shalt not allow the rod," much more consistent with Christ's attitude towards children. The majority of "Christians" have it all wrong.

well thanks for the fucking update capt. obvious. as far as the spare the rod shit? that is in the old testament not the new so has fuck all to do with what the imaginary jesus motherfucker's supposed attitude towards children might or might not have been. your heart is in the right place but if you want anybody to pay any fucking attention to you you need to get your facts right. and when a bum says "spare a dime" it doesn't mean allow or give, that is just fucking stupid.

Exactly... the rod is chastisement. The couple you apparently watched were freaks. I knew this was going to come up again. There is a thread already about that little adopted girl who died. Not ever "Christian" views that passage or the Proverbs 23:13 as an excuse to torture and kill their children. I punished mine with spanking. No more than 5 swats with my hand on his ass that was harder than a brick due to leg casts at a young age. There is a difference.

I have no idea about, and have not read any story about an adopted girl, or know about any couple of freaks. Your method of punishing a child with spanking is very creative. Does it work on little puppies too?

Children do need correction and training. When a person hits a child, there is no way of ever knowing whether an alternative method of chastisement would have produced the same plausible results.

All I know is that when I was little, I wouldn't stay away from my grandfather's organ when we to my grandparents' house. Mom would spank me with her hand, then use her shoe (in those days she wore three-six inch heels on a usual basis), stand me in the corner...I was constantly banging on that organ. I just loved the thing. I could be crying and barely able to sit down, but I was always right back to banging those keys. And if grandpa had it unplugged, I threw a fit. It wasn't until grandpa tried to teach me to play it that I began to lose interest.
