Status: offline 		Perhaps this could cause a controversy! What do the Masters & the Mistresses think about massaging a slave's feet? I am referring to a condition when the slave is dead tired and hurting? It is a a good slave and there are no disciplinary issues. Will it be unMasterly to massage a slave's feet or give it a backrub when it is in physical pain? One of my earlier slave was vehemently against me even touching its feet! I do not mean in the way a slave would do it sitting at its Master's feet. But in a more compassionate way. My view is that since the slave is your property, you must take good care of it.

Would love to hear from others.

My Master massages my feet and shoulders. He makes me tea and runs me a bath. I do the same for him.

It has zero effect on the M/s dynamic, but it has a huge, positive effect on our relationship.

Status: offline 		If Master knows I'm in pain or I've had a rough day he will give me a neck rub, foot massage, make me a cup of tea, feed me, help me with things around the house, etc...and I do the same for him. It's called being a couple in a loving relationship.

Status: offline 		My pet worked a very hard job a few years ago that often caused him back pain. I would have no issues at all with rubbing his back. I don't know how you could see someone work until they were in pain and not want to comfort them in some way or another. As for feet...I hate to have to admit this but I hate feet. I don't touch other peoples. I don't let people touch mine. It's sort of a phobia thing.

Status: offline 		I see no problem with it. I quite enjoy giving massages - it lets me explore the other person's body, brings them pleasure, and relaxes us both. Especially after a hard workout or a long hike releasing clenched muscles and returning blood flow can make the difference between being sore for days and being sore for 24 hours. What sort of partner would I be if I was too proud to help them in that way?

Just because you have a D/s- M/s relationship, doesnt mean you dont have vanilla activities you can't do together. If you weren't in a dynamic, a totally vanilla relationship, would rubbing feet of your lover after a long hard day bother you? Then why should it in a BDSM one? C'mon.

I can understand the trepidation of folks who have a strict dynamic.  There is a certain selflessness that goes along with those kinds of dynamics.  The rules are SET.  For some people those kinds of rules are an important part of the daily routine.  This is true for everyone!  I mean think about the person who always cooks dinner.  When s/he is sick, part of the hard part of being sick is the guilt of not completing one's chores.  It's a pretty common thing.  How many people are shaken when they see a man cry?  MEN don't cry!  Or so some people believe.  What would it be like to see one's father cry, one's grandfather, etc.?  It's that kind of thing - doing something that is uncommon or out of character that is what bothers people more than the thing itself.  As noted, if it's part of the dynamic generally, then it's not really an issue.  It's the CHANGE that is disconcerting for a lot of people.

There are certainly people on these boards who would agree that it is an issue... FOR THEM.

Being a burden, particularly for someone whose self-identity is about caring for others, can be an exceedingly difficult thing.  Being taken care of is often equated with being a burden.  It's not really a far leap, and the inclination for it to be an issue is pretty common - particularly as people are learning what works for them and what doesn't.  New people in particular tend to think there are certain things X people do and certain things Y people do.  Separating people into us and them is a human attribute.  It doesn't have to be an issue (and clearly is not for a lot of people on this board).  However, the folks here tend to be people who have been around the dungeon a time or two and have gotten past the posturing / rules / following others' guidelines.
