quote: ORIGINAL: ClassIsInSession Well, I'm a "republican" and I don't like Perry at all, and I know quite a few in my party that do not. He vowed to back the anti-groping policy that came up for vote in Texas and played political chess to get out of it. He wants to build an 8 lane superhighway right through Texas (from Canada to Mexico) and let a spanish company build, maintain and charge for it...which would be one of the largest imminent domain land grabs in history. Why would a spanish company build a road from canada to mexico? Answer: Because they can charge whatever tolls they want to for 100 years. He's weak on immigration. Neither govornors nor presidents make immigration policy. Just who is it that you do not want immigrating to the u.s.? Answer: I don't want anyone illegally immigrating to the United States, particularly if they prefer to live on an already overloaded social program. Bottom line, in most countries around the world, illegal immigration is not accepted and sometimes punishable by prison or death, certainly almost always be deportation. We can't feed the needs of the rest of the world when we can hardly feed ourselves. It is not setting policy but enforcing it that is the issue. And for further note, I'm a republican but I hate neocons. I don't promote corporatism, though I believe true free market capitalism is what built our nation strong. Define "free market capitalism" and just what it did to make the u.s. strong? Answer: Free market capitalism is when there are no special interests passing legislations or playing buddy buddy in order to give one company an advantage over another. It is a marketplace where if you produce a good or service, the general public votes on your success or failure with the money they spend. And really I think either side of the aisle are two heads of the same snake. I could not agree more
