I would consider having a male submissive, but I don't play unless one is mine. And I don't consider it likely to happen.

I have considered it, but I have never gone there myself even though its about power and pain, a submissive/slave is a partner as well. Its just my view, but thats where I leave it at.

I understand the power/pain part. But just like ESC says, there's still a bit of a sexual overtone to it for me in the power part.
I had an experience last night with a male dom, his female sub, and a female friend of mine. I really relaxed into the pleasure of the pain, he was very good. But later I realized that I wasn't completely, oh, I don't know how to describe it- as into it as I could have been, because of the sexual overtones in the power play. I want to lose that inhibition but don't know how. There must be a different way to think about it. Any suggestions?

Ah, I don't look at S/m as submissive/slave but rather Top/bottom oriented.. so to me, a bottom is a target, not a partner. ;)

Only if he was my type. If I were to indulge dominating a male, he would have to be to my sexual liking—and there would certainly be a considerable amount of brutal sexual treatment involved.

If it were to be non-sexual, I would perhaps enjoy training and encouraging a female in the ways of savaging and humbling him.

For me, its about the D/s and not just the bdsm....I like combination of both...after all I am into power and a control freak...

And I wonder why my mother said I wouldnt get anywhere in this world.

Interesting question. For me, I have never met a male I wanted to top, so I suppose the answer to your question is "no"

What bothers me about the question is who knows what I will encounter tomorrow, and Im not going to pontificate some infinitive about what I would do.

I also like the combination and I have that with Master, but I don't have additional D/s relationships with people, just S/m outside of my primary relationship and the same holds true for Himself with the caveat that he 'can' have additional D/s relationships if he chooses to do so. I cannot. So, it's targets for me.. don't care what their gender is and for right now, its targets for Himself and he doesn't much care what the gender is either.. he has 'me' for M/s, sex and everything else, and that's enough for him.. for now anyway. It has never even crossed my mind to play with a male sub. I have no problems with those who do but I have never even thought about it until now. I probably wouldn't though, if truth be known.

So what in particular do you usually stay away from? This is an excellent point here, and now that I think about it, strikes a chord with what went wrong.

I can say that during the beginning of the scene, someone was grabbing me by the balls and I didn't know who it was. It could have been any of the three of them (and it was probably a little of all of them! LOL). I *thought* it was only him at the time but now I'm not sure- anyway, that thought was offputting a little. I guess that's where my feeling comes from. Live and learn, this is definitely something to bring up in negotiation next time.

Later toward the end he came up to me and grabbed me by the hair and put his hand over my mouth a little. It smelled like his sub's pussy- and that was the point at which I started getting sexually aroused. So, more fodder for negotiation, I guess.

Thanks for the replies, and I certainly hope there will be more! I strongly doubt that's the only lesson to learn!

It really depends on the person and what gets negotiated. And what feels right as far as connection at the moment, and yes I do tend to get a connection on some level with most anyone I work on. For some it's a sexual connection for others it isn't.

No, absolutely not!

I openly describe my own dominance as being an integral part of my sexuality; just as being male and hetero is....

I don't play for play sake with just anyone, anyway, not even a willing fem/sub. It's not what I do but totally about with whom I'm doing it with - or to. For me, playing is just as intimate an act as sex (often moreso), so there's no point discounting sex to qualify your question anyway.
