Status: offline 		What, penalty for spying? This is not what America is about. Spies and assassins are cool. Just business. Penalty should be for getting caught, not being smart (or lucky) enough.

I thought that the above was what a spy expected if they were caught.

I believe a citizen of a country who spies on their own country for another country should get life imprisonment at solitary confinement with no opportunity of parole. This form of espionage is treason.

I believe a citizen of a country who spies on another country on behalf of or on the orders of their own country should be held in prison until they can be exchanged for a spy from the country they were caught spying on or some form of compensation. This form of espionage is actually an act of patriotism.
