Is that so? What a mess you must make every time you look in the mirror!

I'll be happy to continue this conversation with you after you've successfully completed your therapy. Best wishes with your therapy.

Never needed it, you on the other hand, with the level of self-delusion you exhbit, might consider your own advice.

Yesterday, Egyptians enraged at Israeli killing 5 Egyptian border guards recently, stormed the Israeli Embassy in Cairo .

Erdogan the Turkish PM is due to visit Cairo in a few days. There's talk of an Egyptian-Turkish alliance to counter Israeli dominance of the region. Turkey, a NATO member is far stronger than any of Israel's usual enemies. Erdogan also hopes to visit Gaza - where a visiting PM from a major regional power will send a powerful signal to the beleaguered residents and add to hopes that the Israeli blockade will be broken soon. Palestinian statehood will be before the UN in a few days ....

Are we witnessing the tipping point? Many analysts are suggesting that Israeli arrogance and intransigence have caused Israel to miss the opportunity to make peace from a position of maximum strength. Even Israelis are beginning to revolt as the financial burden of maintaining the Occupation mean they miss out on housing, welfare and other benefits. The view from inside Israel looks increasingly depressing - no matter direction one looks.

Israel has a possibly unsurpassed talent for picking fights and making enemies. Much of the above could have been avoided if Israel apologised to Turkey for murdering its citizens. Has it picked one too many fights, has it made one too many enemies? How much longer will the US tolerate it's 'ally' acting like a schoolyard bully?

As long as it takes to get to the point where they don't have to.

Why is it that so many Muslims seem to exist in a constant state of rage.

Yanno, that provokes a thought...

Maybe they'll attack the Turkish naval escort, and then claim it was a mistake! [:D]

You don't know the answer to that Sanity? Arabs and Muslims have been telling you that for at least as long as I have been alive - that's 30 years. Have you ever considered listening to people as a strategy?

Most people offer 3 main reasons - the first is a US policy, the second a raw material and the third a very nasty widely loathed USproxy in the region.

Can you join the dots now?

If Israel behaved like any other country, and lived inside its internationally recognised borders, and didn't engage in wholesale theft of other people's land, it would be a whole new ball game.

Alas Israel shows no signs of wishing to live inside its borders. And it's "forced" to behave like a schoolyard bully to "defend" its thuggish Occupation of Palestine, its (low-intensity) ethnic cleansing, its theft of the West Bank, just like a schoolyard bully resorts to intimidation and violence to keep the marbles he stole.....

The Israelis and the Turks had a good relationship (as far as one can have such a thing in the Middle East) until this attack on the aid flotilla went on.

quote:

Turkey's prime minister says Israel's raid on a Gaza-bound aid flotilla last year was "cause for war" but adds that his country had shown "patience" and refrained from taking any action.

Prime Minister Recep Erdogan's comments to Al-Jazeera television come as a rift between former allies Israel and Turkey has deepened over Israel's refusal to apologize for the attack that killed nine activists on board a Turkish ship trying to break Israeli naval blockade of Gaza. It also comes ahead of Erdogan's visit to Egypt on Monday, aimed at forging closer cooperation with the country whose relations have also grown tense in the past weeks.

Erdogan, who enjoys huge popularity in the Arab world because of his anti-Israeli stance, told Al-Jazeera that the raid occurred in international waters and was therefore "unlawful." His comments were carried by Turkey's state-run Anatolia news agency late Sunday.

"This attack that took place in international waters is not within international laws," Erdogan said. "It is a cause for war, but we decided to act in line with Turkey's grandeur and showed patience."

Turkey says flotilla raid was 'cause for war

As for the other countries, (like in Egypt) the Arab "man on the street" never was a fan of Israel, and now these various regimes are crumbling, those deals with Israel the strongmen running them made, are likely all going to need a significant rework.

If I were the Israeli government, an apology to the Turks would have been a cheap way out of the trouble with the Turks they are now in.

And contrary to some of the posts, while the UN found the blockade was legit, they found the Israeli use of force and in particular the random shootings about the aid vessels was unjustified -

quote:

A U.N. report into the raid, released earlier this month, said Israel's naval blockade was legitimate but accused the Israel of using "excessive and unreasonable" force.

If I were the Israelis, I would be trying to maintain a real low profile while the "Arab Spring" matures.

How do they differ from say; rageboy in Idaho? I note one of them on that link is about codepink and another is showing a chinese banner...nevertheless, someone may be mad about this or that in any country.

What is the fucking point?

I think maybe some of those pictures are people demonstrating against their governments and Pro-America.

Separate those out first.

Sanity -> RE: Trouble Looking to Happen (9/12/2011 7:38:25 AM)

Whether you feign ignorance or you really are that ignorant its not my problem - get someone else to hold your hand and try to walk you through this.

You have demonstrated a profound ignorance here and now, you have a sort of an ignorant nothingness you are clothing yourself in but would like to pretend that you have an intelligence level commensurate with an average adult, and you are failing quite miserably at it.

Looks like Jordan, Israel's other erstwhile local ally is weighing in too -

quote:

Jordan's King Abdullah II, one of Israel's few remaining close allies in the Muslim world, said in remarks obtained Monday that the uprisings sweeping Arab nations have put the Jewish state in a difficult position. He also hotly rejected the notion that his country should take in Palestinians as a substitute for the creation of a state for them.
Abdullah told a closed meeting of Jordanian intellectuals and academics that Jordan and the Palestinians were now in a stronger position than Israel, whose current government fears growing isolation as a result of the Middle East's transformative changes in the Arab Spring.

"Jordan and the future of Palestine are stronger than Israel. It is the Israelis who are worried today," Abdullah told the audience late Sunday. A transcript of his comments was obtained from the Royal Palace on Monday.

Besides Jordan, Egypt is the only other Arab nation to have signed a peace deal with Israel. But its ties with Egypt have been severely strained since the February ouster of Hosni Mubarak and the anti-Israeli sentiment that has burst into the open in the Arab world's most populous nation — most visibly in the attack on the Israeli Embassy in Cairo over the weekend.

With

quote:

Many in Israel fear that this year's Arab uprisings — along with a diplomatic crisis with former partner Turkey and stalled peace talks with the Palestinians — have left their nation increasingly isolated. Adding to that sense, the Palestinians are taking their quest for statehood to the United Nations later this month.

King Abdullah said that during a recent visit to the United States, an Israeli intellectual told him that the Arab Spring serves Israeli interests. "I answered: 'On the contrary, you are today in a more difficult position than before,'" he recalled saying. He did not elaborate.

And

quote:

A significant portion of Jordan's population has never been enthusiastic about the country's 1994 peace treaty with Israel. Anger with Israel is running high in Jordan for a number of reasons. In particular, Netanyahu's hard-line government is deeply distrusted in Jordan, and many Jordanians blame it for the failure of Palestinian-Israeli peace talks to get off the ground two years ago.
-
Jordan's king says Arab Spring bad for Israel

The list of the local Israeli allies is growing short indeed. At the rate Netanyahu is going, he will have succeeding at torquing all the region by the end of the year. Even the moderates are like Jordan are shunning the current Israelite regime.
