In 1933 in Berlin Germany, there was a fire, a very important fire The Reichstag fire. The facts were that an unemployed bricklayer started the fire because he hated Hitler and The German Government. That's very very basic I know, but bear with me. More than likely the Nazi's used the fire to solidify their hold on Germany and bang the drums to war.

In 1964 in the Gulf of Tonkin The United States government claims that it was attacked by Communist aggressors. Which led to the Vietnam War. In 2005  The National Security Agency declassified a study that said clearly that there had been no attacks what so ever.

On Monday, March 30, 1981 There was the attempted assassination of then president Ronald Regan. What is interesting to note that Vice President and Ex Head of the CIA George Bush. Was scheduled to have dinner with the father of the Assassin John Hinkley Jr. (Coincidence?)

On September 11, 2011 this country was cowardly attacked and 3000 people lost their lives, yet the fact is that the president George W Bush was a personal friend of the Bin Laden Family (Coincidence?) on September 11, 2001 A BBC reporter made the statement to a live television broadcast that Building Seven of the world trade center had collapsed from damage from trade centers 1 and 2. Yet in the broadcast over the reporters shoulder clearly standing is building seven. (WTF)

After we invaded Afghanistan and George Bush got up with his "Mission Accomplished" Banner he made the statement "I don't really think about Bin Laden, I think he's dead" Benizer Buttho made the statement on BBC tv that Bin Laden was dead and the US Government killed him.
Years Later, We claim to have killed Bin Laden but the photo is never made public and the body is dumped in the Indian ocean.

Why is it that we are told these FACTS that we are expected to believe, and that no one is willing to think for themselves and we continue to elect officials that do what ever they want and screw the American people

I think to state that no one is willing to think for themselves is a little far fetched.
Lets be careful in not offering that up as FACT.
There are many many Michael Moore's in the world, they just aren't as visible.

Could we consolidate all the nutcase 9/11 conspiracy theory posts into one thread somewhere like poll and random stupidity?

John if you feel politicians are screwing the American people then you should stand for election yourself. Thats the beauty of democracy. BTW I dislike the way conspiracists always pretend those that don't accept their theories are not thinking for themselves. That's what I keep hearing from every single conspiracist on here.

The beauty of democracy is for those with M O N E Y buddy. I don't know how it is where you live but here it takes a shitload of money just to become a city councilman. Anything on the federal level costs millions.

It doesn't take brains or loyalty or anything else, enough money is what does it. It's not exactly who has the most money, there is still a game to be played of course, but you don't even get into the game without a shitload of MONEY. For 99% of the people in this country even running for congressman would be like sitting down to a dollar ante poker game with only a penny in your pocket. If it's different in your country tell us all about it.

Now that is a great suggestion...that way, they aren't popping up everywhere else.  Of course, I have them hidden because of their blather, but still, get 'em out of the mainstream threads!

*pops off to the right thread to add Ken's suggestion!*

It costs quite a lot here too bud but M O N E Y is not an insurmountable obstacle. Ever hear of grass roots movements? Take the spread of differing values in Europe in the 19th and early 20th Century where people quite often from poor backgrounds faced great obstacles.

I'm not saying it wouldn't be a big challenge but how many have died over the past century just to have the same freedoms of democracy that you and John have? That should put the money excuse in some perspective.

WTF you lot have a 9% unemployment rate at the moment. Its bad but our situation is far worse with 14% unemployment, one of the worst in Europe but that's after the banking system pretty much exploded.

You have no idea how the new math works here do you ? After you're unemployed for a while you are no longer counted. Just like if they kept figuring inflation the same way as they did twenty years ago the figures would cause a revolution. The figures for the GDP are similarly "adjusted" from time to time, that is when the economists for one administration or another figure it is in their best interests to "adjust" the formula.

That's funny, 9%. Thanks for the laugh. You want my off the cuff estimation - 21%. That is of able bodied adults willing and able to work, excluding those who are scamming to get disability. (many do not do it out of laziness, there are no jobs) And that doesn't include all the ex middle class folk who now make minimum wage. It would take more people to get up enough money to put forth a viable candidate than it would to elect him.

That's just a guesstimate but so are the official figures.
