Dear VandalHeart, Ladies and Gentlemen; I am of the belief that the 'lifestyle' borrows many things that have a dominant and submissive foundation. We identify with four foundational authority and submission to authority, within Relgion, Military, Imperial and Ceremony. Each civilization marker has things we can identify, to which I see some posters already grasping such. From the slaves before Christ, through the craddle of civilization, in Scorates and Aristotle who were both slaves and impact what civilization is today. From the class systems of Ancient warrior's codes of Bushido, the Spanish flavors of "Imperial Courts" and the Inquisition to which many tortures were created. The Baroque period, the Classical era, the Revolutionary periods, the Victorian and or Civil War periods, and through Modern BDSM, Old Guard, Modern Guard, New Guard, Old School and such. What is more important is how it practiced in individual's own way, as to make it a unique style of its own. It really is something to savor and appreciate, as so many examples of the dominant/submissive interactions, as to inspire us and inspire books and novels such as "Gor," to which hide within the veils of a different counter-earth, historically based cultures of dominance and submission on a globle philosophy. As for me, I borrow much from everything however, the total sum--it is Lady Hugs' style. Respectfully submitted for consideration, Lady Hugs
