ORIGINAL: abrattyprincess Do you get the spinning rainbow ball a lot? You can try cleaning out your cache and then resetting Safari. Both of these are under the Safari tab at the top left next to the apple icon. Hope this helps some! :) Yeah, I get that rainbow spinning ball a lot, it has come to annoy the hell out of me, as this signifies the mac not performing. Now one thing did occur to me, is I have an awful lot of imagery on this thing, RAW files, I kicked them to DVD and that speeded things up a bit, as the installed software on this machine I know takes up about half of the resources, Mac speech dictate, Adobe design standard; PS CS5, Bridge and Illustrator, MS Office, Inspiration, Intego, Claro, Sonority and Iris pen, so I guess with that lot, the machine is not as free running as it could be, but my issue was really internet, where the browsers struggle to load pages. Firefox sucks, it did on the vista disaster, so I went Mozilla Camino then reverted back to Safari, where resetting and cleaning out the cache appeared to speed it up a bit, but if thinking back, my problems really started with an auto update of Safari of which other users on the net seem to be complaining about, so am not alone in this thought. But curiously, select private browsing and the old speed is back with far fewer hang ups. So what's going on here, why does selecting private browsing speed life on the net up ?
