HeatherMcLeather -> CM Survey Service (9/13/2011 9:09:22 AM)

On the "is pegging gay" thread, Suze, Cheri, and I undertook a quick informal survey at our schools to see if crazyml's assertion had any validity <it seemed to have>. We are going to try to expand on that survey to get some answers to some other related questions as well.

Hanners and I think that this is a really useful way to get some actual data, all be it quick and dirty data, on some questions rather than relying on opinion and supposition. Now I realize that most of you can't be asking people questions for a survey at work, especially not the sort of things we at CM would be wanting to know. But you can ask ANYTHING on a university or college campus. Sociology, anthropology and psychology students are always doing surveys on bizarre questions.

So what I am proposing is that the various CMers who are students form a survey service. When one of the threads comes up with a question where some actual data would be useful, we students undertake to gather that data. The more people we can ask and the more diverse the sample, the more valid would our data be. Haytch House would be happy to do the collating of the data, or somebody uninvolved in the data collection could be selected, whatever everybody thinks most appropriate.

Anybody who is interested in helping out let me know, either on this thread or on the other side.

So what say you, student types, who's in?

I would be all for this ... as long as there was an early effort to validate my theory that there is an actual ecological need to annually club neocons to death like baby seals in some remote location (like inside the beltway) in an effort to 'balance the demographic'.

FR

I got the first question :

Politicians should be boiled in oil at :

A. 350 degrees
B. 400 degrees
C. 450 degrees
D. 500 degrees

T^T

HeatherMcLeather -> RE: CM Survey Service (9/13/2011 9:42:51 AM)

Any level of post secondary student at all is welcome. And any level of student can be asked, anybody in the halls is fair game. [:D]

But I don't personally want to get into doing political surveys, the results would just be dismissed by whoever's point of view was not supported, even real professional scientific polls are dismissed when you don't like the answer down in P&R. So I'm not wasting my time on that sort of survey, it will just garner the survey crew a lot of animosity.

GreedyTop -> RE: CM Survey Service (9/13/2011 9:45:58 AM)

(Heather.. I'm just takin the piss with Skipper.. LOL)

Leave it to you termy to come up with a question unworthy of Heather's team..

Heather ... I am profoundly confident that the survey team you assemble will nopt only be qualified... but also look good enough to eat

Give a fucking squirrel monkey a pair of wings and look what happens

WinsomeDefiance -> RE: CM Survey Service (9/13/2011 10:13:38 AM)

Well, if it helps I have four sons.  God help me, but they've had this conversation within earshot of me so I know their opinions.  Wish I didn't, but I do.

Out of the four, all four think it is gay if a guy takes it up the ass (their words, not mine).
Out of the four, one of them thinks it is even gay if the woman takes it up the ass.  Ass fucking is gay, (again, his words not mine.)

I was sure I'd raised them better, but a single mom can only cover just so many of the sex-talk basics ya know.

gimme a jigsaw and I haz MEGA HAPPY!!

blnymph -> RE: CM Survey Service (9/13/2011 10:21:19 AM)

only US topics or international/"world-wide"?
and if so, please, the questions should possibly not contain any US-neologisms or DWTIASTNCGWTMs (drawing words together into acronyms so that nobody can guess what that means ...)

like the idea though[:)]

I think I'll exclude my ex-students at the Open Uni. Three in prison, one in Broadmoor; three soldiers, one a brigadier . . . . "Would it be gay if a woman were to whop a strap-on up your dungfunnel?". Nup.

As a single Dad I can tell you with authority... everybody has a kid in the neighborhood named like Steven or something like that who has a longboard and Parents that answered ALL his questions by throwing in the South Park DVD. He comes to your driveway and UN-DOES all your years of trying to offer sensible information about human sexuality.

Whatever topics people want polled really. The current question we are asking random males is "Do you consider a man being anally penetrated by a woman with a strap on to be indicative of  being gay?" With a follow-up question for those who said no.

So anything at all really, just not political stuff, there is a whole industry out there to do that. I'm not going to get into that because the sample will automatically be discarded as skewed by people who have far too much invested in their opinions.

Can we count you in as our first German pollster then?

South Park, not so bad.  It was the call I received from the other parent letting me know that their kids had been watching hard core porn with mine.  Not a good day.

WinsomeDefiance -> RE: CM Survey Service (9/13/2011 11:36:15 AM)

Heather, I apologize for veering off topic.  I think that your idea is a good one, and look forward to reading about your results.  If I think of anything I'd like a survey on, I'll pass it on to you.

And what's wrong with that ?

zephyroftheNorth -> RE: CM Survey Service (9/13/2011 3:31:13 PM)

This is a really awesome idea. One question though, I assume that questions and results will be posted here, right? How are we going to keep track of this thread?
