When is every so often ? If it's after warmed up it may be the fuel pump screen collapsing. If it collapses too many times the fuel pump will burn up because it needs the fuel flow to cool off. If the fuel pump costs more than the labor to drop the tank, change the screen and filter, if it costs less change the pump as well. Anything else depends on the system, especially if the car has an electronic throttle, which is not all that common. It's not really rare, but it depends on the make and model. Usually anything other than fuel delivery causing poor performance either makes it choke or is part of the computerized engine management system. Usually it's fuel. That doesn't mean it's a good thing, fuel pumps cost real money on some cars. So much for the hijack part. Alpha, now really, do you think that I am one of the ones who push the envelope ? I hafta admit that I used to try to do just that. Not so much as an antagonistic effort, but more just to find out just where the limits lie. I'm a bit calmer now that I have found them. :-) See, I was born an asshole and grew ALOT bigger ! LOL. T^T
