"They would get hurt far worse than we would." Depends on how you look at it. They will lose more money, but their standard of living won't fall into the abyss nearly as quickly or deeply as ours. That's because they have some agri base and plenty of manufacturing power. The US is not their only customer. But even regardless of that fact, they could much more easily make it as an isolationist nation. Sure they would lose alot of money, but really I don't think they were all that shortsighted. You see, I think that when they shouldered all this US debt, they already had a pretty good idea that they weren't going to get paid back. Credit ratings mean shit. It's like cosigning for someone for a loan, you might as well figure that's giving money away. We are their biggest customer but we have no money. Come on, they loaned us that money figuring they were buying us. What they don't know is there are too many loose cannons in the game. Regardless, they can afford to lose it, after all they don't have it now do they ? Some of these other countries are not as stupid as people think. T^T
