I kinda like the lexicon that was created from my PA Dutch heritage. I find it quaint and is something that reminds me of where I'm from. Yeah, people like to tease me about the way I talk and my dialect which I've never seemed to lose completely even though I've lived all over, but it's  unique and makes me stand out from others in places I've lived. lol

There are a few words that remain in my vocabulary that are a legacy from my grandmother, and aren't heard too often anymore:

Lavalier (a pendant necklace)
Davenport (large sofa)
Divan (large sofa)
Decolletage (low cut neckline)

"Tetched" is one that I use occasionally down in the cellar.  It just seems appropriate.

"Cattycorner" I grew up with, but no one else seems to use.
