"It gets folks discouraged. I know. I listen to some of y'all," Obama told an audience of some 3,000 in a darkened Washington convention center.

But he said blacks need to have faith in the future -- and understand that the fight won't be won if they don't rally to his side.

Look at '08'.

Look at Iraq.

Look at the credit downgrade.

Look at the damaging bush tax cuts that haven`t produced any jobs.

They want to go back to pre-'08' rules and regs and give out more and even bigger tax cuts to rich people, to produce zero jobs.

Finally, he`s taking the gloves off and calling a duck a duck.

America is crippled now for majority of people. If Obama was a genuine leader (not a con artist) he would acknowledge this and he would lay out reality based plan to un-cripple America. Instead, almost everything Obama is doing is "crippling" America. Whatever  "vision" GOP has, in practice, the government policies would be basically the same with differnt people occupying the important posts. Intelligent observer would certainly notice the continuity of foreign (war) policies throughout Bush-Clinton-Bush-Obama governments and global corporatism as the main economy direction.

As for the new tone...the election is coming, do you expect Obama not to campaign?...

Have you forgotten about the no fly zone, and Clintons airstrikes, and his constant parrying with Saddam Hussein? Fellow has that much right, Bushs policies were in large part a continuation of Clintons just as Clinton carried on much in the tradition of GHW Bush.

The biggest difference is how the left went apoplectic because of the Florida vote fiasco out of their intense hatred for W, as seen in the way they demonized him and ignore to this day how the Dems in Congress voted overwhelmingly in favor of giving Bush war powers in Iraq following speeches from many of the major Dems in Washington on the dangers of Iraq to the world and to the USA

Frankly, I just don't get it. Mr. Obama is the head cheese. So, if the CBC and their followers (constituents) are going to go march for change, wouldn't they be marching on him? As the head cheese. So, he is calling for people to march on him. To get his attention. I mean, who else are they going to march on. For redressing grievances and such?

It seems a bit weird to call for a protest on yourself.
