xssve -> Vote Obama (9/27/2011 10:16:15 AM)

So, Obama - cant' say he lived up to all my expectations, but at least he isn't making it worse, the fucking tea baggers will run us into the ground for good and all, no question.

I'll take benignly ineffectual over aggressive stupidity at this point.

So, it's a bit of a lukewarm endorsement, but really, he hasn't made any of the bone moves pubs are famous for, and if he could get around the sandbagging republican congress, he might actually end up doing some good.

FirmhandKY -> RE: Vote Obama (9/27/2011 10:27:29 AM)

Kinda earlier to be deciding to vote, based on the individual, don't you think?  Since, after all, we don't yet know who else will actually be on the ballot?

Firm

mnottertail -> RE: Vote Obama (9/27/2011 10:29:21 AM)

We can be assured that whoever it might be, that due to either the lackluster of their earlier works, or the passion of it, they are eminently unnacceptable.

But as we have discussed Firm, I didn't vote him last time and I won't vote him this time, (and he obviously don't need my help) but I do not see a miracle in any quarter.

I am feeling 98% assured its going to be Obama.

RacerJim -> RE: Vote Obama (9/27/2011 10:31:36 AM)

Keep drinkin da kool-aid.

mnottertail -> RE: Vote Obama (9/27/2011 10:32:41 AM)

He can't get a sip for all your gulping.

slvemike4u -> RE: Vote Obama (9/27/2011 10:33:30 AM)

Is it too early to decide who you would vote for based on who is currently running?
As far as I'm concerned it isn't....and given the current field,even throwing in some of the "other" possible candidates( those that are being bandied about,but not yet thrown their hat in the ring),I already know who I'm voting for [:)]

servantforuse -> RE: Vote Obama (9/27/2011 10:34:34 AM)

It won't matter who is or was responsible for our present economy. If it doesn't turn around, and quickly, Obama will get the blame in 2012.

slvemike4u -> RE: Vote Obama (9/27/2011 10:35:16 AM)

What if you like kool-aid....?
What is so wrong with drinking something you like ?Especially if the alternative offered to you is not to your taste [:)]

mnottertail -> RE: Vote Obama (9/27/2011 10:35:34 AM)

As president. Agreed, he will get the blame, as president in 2012.

DomKen -> RE: Vote Obama (9/27/2011 10:55:53 AM)

Perry - murderer and proud of it - unacceptable
Bachmann - conspiracy nut, homophobe and stupid - unacceptable
Romney - worst sort of capitalist, is running away from his record - unacceptable
Gingrich - is Gingrich - unacceptable
Frothy Mix - homophobe and stupid - unacceptable
Cain - nuts - unacceptable
Paul - nuts - unacceptable
Huntsman - worst thing is boring, has no hope of winning nomination - acceptable
Johnson - who? has no hope of winning the nomination - acceptable

So in that field there are precisely 2 people I could ever imagine voting for and their combined polling right now is around 4%. I'd bet that when Nov. 2012 rolls around I'll be voting for Obama as much to vote against what ever scumbag the Republican party nominates as I will be voting for Obama.

Well, lots and lots of things can change over the next 13 months, I think.

I'm particularly thinking about the economy.  While there is a slight possiblity that it will improve, my suspicions is that it will implode within the next two years at the most, and more likely before the election.

As well, while we've been "lucky" in our wars and terrorists attacks, as long as there are people and groups dedicated to our destruction, I am not sanguine that we will continue to be so lucky.

Not to mention all of the emerging scandals of the current administration, as well as the growing discontent of the liberal base.

Not to mention any "October Surprises" that are waiting in the wings.

I guess I'm just surprised that anyone would firmly declare that they have made their mind up at this early stage of the game.  It seems to me that when someone does, it is more about ideology, than really about the best person - at the time - for the job.

mnottertail -> RE: Vote Obama (9/27/2011 11:19:49 AM)

Who is out there to suprise though, is my question Firm?

Jim Varney come back from the dead?

Barney the Dinosaur turns in a Nobel Prize contender in Economic Theory?

Cuz there ain't anything of a caliber above a moronic party hack at best, either side of the aisle or of any freewheeling philosophy. Nobody will vote for some obscure but self-admitted Anti-Christ if he is out there in the world somewhere.

Sam Nunn ain't runnin, and Ronald Reagan OD'd on jelly beans some time ago.

Hell, there is even some funky evidence that neutrinos may run faster than the speed of light coming out of the Large Hadron Collider, and Einstein was not a natural born citizen. (But that could be overlooked considering 'Dutch' Regean, Leslie King, Jr and the Kenyan.

Marc2b -> RE: Vote Obama (9/27/2011 11:30:24 AM)

At this point it looks like I'll be voting for myself as a write-in candidate... again.

Oh well, at least I can say I got a vote for President of the United States... how many of you can say that?
