Yeah, but look at Palin, Bachmann, Cheney, Bush, Boener, Romney, Santorum, Perry, Walker, Brown et al.... they say stupid shit they shouldnt in their positions all the time.... It is a human failing.

We heard that on the local news here too. We're only about 20 miles from the N.C. line. "Suspend elections?" Is that something anyone should be saying? Boy, those Democrats are blowing themselves up like a jihadist with a dynamite pack strapped to his chest. Usually the Democrats start panicking in Sept, two months before the election. They're starting WAY early this election!

Hi Lucy I have to agree with the others- I don't think she's joking. Conversely, this thread in a microcosm has shown what she's upset about- and rightfully so. Here's a governor saying that basically, that the ship of state has hit an iceberg and is sinking. The Republicans, intent on winning the 2012 elections are not doing anything to shore up the bulkheads, and instead are running around screaming the captain ran us into an iceberg. Some of us would point out that actually, the iceberg bash happened on the previous administrations watch, and that Obama has been doing his damnedest to try and fix things, but the Republicans have so distorted his record, that he's been unsuccessful. From her perspective- the Republicans are going to win the election- and hence, the year and a half running up to it is going to be time which the Republicans will waste not fixing the country- in order to make sure of their election victory. Had she been more eloquent- and use the phrase that the Republicans are fiddling while Rome burns to make sure that Obama loses- well, that might have been clearer. Her call to abandon the elections is a desperate move- and she knows it. She's showing that she understands how much trouble the country is in- that we're entering a double dip recession which will likely turn into a full blown depression. It's desperation to let the Republicans run things, but she sees little hope for the Democrats to pull a miracle out at this point. It's a very depressing suggestion.... That the Republicans blame her for it shows that they don't grasp how awful things have become from her perspective. Sam

Suspending a campaign, and suspending an election are very different things. Now we should note, since the subject has been raised, that candidate Obama stuck to his plan at that time, because as we've all seen with our own eyes since, he'd rather campaign than govern, any day of the week. As to the comment from this Governor, there was no sarcasm, no joke, no hyperbole. Democrats have that streak of "we know best," lust for totalitarian control, and she let it show. Let us hope the voters of her state remember this, when her name is on the ballot again. And if the ballot box isn't where it is supposed to be, when it is supposed to be there, the jury box and ammo box are next in line.

Actually its not Rich, seeing as only one person said to suspend his campaign...it didnt last long did it, what maybe a day?? she says thewhole system should change on her say so and the world explodes... one person, ... dos NOT make a decision about the election process Mc Cain, DID sayit, he did do it, everyone called himon it, it never happened. what Perdue said is as likely to come about as Palin becoming pres in 2012 or 2016. no matter how many dems said it. bloody stupidity.
