Illegal Hispanics, and all other illegals, should be careful the door doesn't hit their illegal asses on the way outta here.

Last year the Principles of the two grade schools closest to me unilaterally cancelled Halloween activities at their schools because the Hispanic parents of 3-4 Hispanic students, out of total enrollments of 250+ students at each school, complained that Halloween was offensive to their Spanish heritage. And I don't live in a border State but, rather, in Maryland, and "Halloween" isn't on either school's current calender.

Seeing as how Halloween is "All Hallows Eve" which is steeped in Catholic tradition and most hispanics are Catholic, I tend to place this in the enormous and ever growing "Racer Jim pile of BULLSHIT"

I can think of a lot of reasons for wanting the data.

So can i, and none of them involve idle curiosity. Somebody wants to USE that information, and i suspect illegal aliens have reason to fear that it's being asked. You were right the first time. It looks like a crack down on illegal immigration because... it's a crackdown on illegal immigration.

pam

It's a crackdown on illegal immigration and the information will be used in any way shape or form to identify the illegal immigrants. Unless the law is changed, it will be interesting to see what happens to Alabama over the next 2 years. Iffen you iz in Alabama and you look Hispanic/Latino, be prepared to provide proof you belong there.  Shoot, why not issue state ID cards for everyone, compile all the data with continous additions as you get arrested, move, etc. Include children too, see who is really exhausting the dollars. Make it mandatory iffen you move to Alabama, you have to be processed by the state to ensure you belong there. Frig Alabama with a capital "F." Let's see what economics does to their pure-legalized-citizen state.

And, I stand with Obama on the following. We will have a Hispanic/Latino president in my lifetime.

Link please?

All I could find was a blog complaining about a proposal: http://www.sullysrants.com/2007/10/md-public-schools-try-to-cancel-halloween-celebrations/

Businesses "hire" in various ways, they can use a subcontract company or subtrade. Anyone not a US citizen or living in the US can form a US company and get an employer identification number. Many years ago i got a SSN without living in the US, mine just stated not for work purposes on it and it started with a specific number. The policy of issuing those types of SSNs may have changed since 9/11 tho. People that dont live in the US that go to vegas for instance and gamble a lot and win, they can apply for a tax number since the casinos withold part of the winnings, having a tax number means you can deduct losses from wins and pay less tax... Any time someone that doesnt live in the US but buys real estate in the US they will either get a tax number or they will have part of the money of any future sale withheld for tax.

If you are dealing business to business then imo there wont be any verification of the legal status of the workers for the business you hire.. Its one thing when you hire an employee directly (& only a small number of companies use e-verify unless state law requires it), its quite another when you are just hiring another company..

so yeah, it is more efficient to go after the kiddies..

We currently have a law that makes it a quarter milion dollar fine and five years in the federal pen for hiring someone who crosses the boarder illegally, per violation...but then you knew that. This is just a law to allow cops to fuck with those who are not white.

Legal Hispanics leave because three guys from Yemen get picked up in a drug raid? And they released the one without paperwork as soon as some was produced. BTW, any non-citizen is supposed to have that paperwork on them at all times.

Did you read the article?

I have read about legal Hispanics leaving various states before these kinds of laws are even passed. Why stay in a state that is likely going to target you because you might be illegal? I wouldnt..

Btw, not all non-citizens have paperwork, tourist visitors enter without getting any paperwork at all...

LOL a passport does not prove a person is in the US legally, it just proves you have citizenship in whatever country that passport was issued from..

And because my passport is valuable and trying to replace it if lost or stolen is a pain, I dont carry mine on me 24/7, I only take it with me when i know i will need it..
