Very true, Moonhead, the same is true of our grocery chains. But I do love Tesco!

Very long, poorly constructed sentences with lots of rambling tacked on clauses as well.

I'd definitely take the ones I've been in over Sainsburys, put it that way.

Not really, I'm just pointing out that for somebody who claims to have an English degree, your use of the language is pretty woeful.
(Though you are using more full stops now, which is something.)

I like Tobasco quite a bit. I dont like any business that exploits anyone even if they do give good prices and whatnot. It is imperative to notice why our prices are low sometimes.

Not living in England, (too bad for me) I dont know how it is over there, but exploitation by anyone is abominable. Full stop.

Kev, I can't see how they sell terrible food when they stock all the mainstream brands like other supermarkets. There are a few things that "Besco" did which annoyed me, e.g. the way they bought into becoming the dominant supermarket chain in Ireland in just a few years but the strict laws to protect competitiveness that were in place years ago must have been relaxed so I assume thats an issue of accountability for one of the former governments rather than Tesco. I remember in the late 1990's Tesco were talking about banning Irish beef when it was becoming popular in the UK due to the Mad Cow disease in British beef. That was a cynical stunt to appease nationalistic sentiments so Tesco are bastards no doubt but not that much worse than the other lot, and overall their supermarkets are pretty decent, with "arguably" a nicer range than the slightly tatty Dunnes Stores, a bigger range than Supervalu, cheaper than the slightly pricey Superquinn, and usually their stores have far more pleasant surroundings than the el-cheapo stores like Lidl and Aldi!

Kevin;
I want to understand you.  By the quote above, I take it that you are saying that an officer's sexual orientation affects their job performance.

If so, watch your back, m'friend.

If not, apologies are in order.
--------
Sorry, Mods.  Off topic.  But, y'know, Kevin himself drags his own threads off topic and the quote above shows how easily he does it.

-----------
BACK on topic:

I, as an American, am having trouble following Kevin's train of thought since I'm not familiar with the various chain stores being mentioned.  Possibly there'a a link or some such that could give us ALL a run-down on price comparisons.  I bet there's one comparing customer satisfaction as well.

<edited for teeny typo>

Damn! I thought you were going to say Oblunder fell down an elevator shaft.

Exactly and this is not the same as wishing Bush died when he choked on a pretzel or Cheney dying during his surgery.
