Have you heard the wonderful news folks? Tesco the rapacious retail giant is finally getting its comeuppance. After years of exorbitant prices and appalling customer service, it appears people are voting with their feet in the UK as TESCO have just revealed their WORST results in 20 years. i just cant stop laughing it is simply delightful to see a malfeasant corporate giant brought to book. Why should people pay £160 in a store which in all honesty sells terrible food and champions and is the very embodiment of indifferent and callous disregard of those who pay its wages. Let me know your thoughts folks on this excellent development

Of all the giant food stores here in the UK I would choose Tesco every time. I've always found their goods to be well-priced and good value for money. Customer service has always been excellent too.

*shrugs*

YMMV

Damn! I thought you were going to say Oblunder fell down an elevator shaft.

The facts do not bear this out UNFORTUNATELY. The bottom line is they are a FINANCIAL DRAIN on people at a time when people can least afford a parasitic corporate giant to leech off their resources, and leeching it is Im afraid, there is simply NO JUSTIFICATION for doing anything other than DECREASING your prices in a recession, TESCO have FLAGRANTLY and BLATANTLY not done that. It is simply INDEFENSIBLE

I disagree. They're one of the cheaper stores around here, their quality is fine and whenever I've had a complaint or a query they've always been extremely helpful.

Sainsbury, on the other hand, I won't shop in because of their appalling customer service.

Lidl is the cheapest and nicest store. TESCO need to bring their prices right down, in one way i hope there is another severe slow down and or people boycott Tesco, i will certainly not be darkening their rapacious doors again, their prices are exorbitant and the quality of their food is simply terrible compared to their competitors, i will be delighted when this corporate is ejected from the market in Britain and Ireland, it just goes to show nothing good comes from Britain, indeed the 20th century and early 21st century have plainly illustrated how Britain has completely failed its people, we had the Herald of Free Enterprise disaster in the 80s caused by indefensible negligence of a company which failed to do the rudimentary basics of passenger safety by leaving its bow doors open, a complete cock up but was anyone or anybody held accountable for this avoidable disaster no, as the corrupt British justice system protected the perpetrators, then we had the Kingscross fire, once more the company evaded responisibility for this calamity, then Hillsborough for which no culpable individual has ever served a time in jail for despite the damning failure of the South Yorkshire police to protect citizens of the Uk and elsewhere on the day and who still to this day there are consequences no justice for the families, due to the incompetence of the British government who failed to bring a case and when they did failed to come to a conclusion that was just and fair instead seeing fit to exonerate the perpetrators. Is it at all surprising that the best store in Britain is actually German , not at all, i would not trust a Briton to create a success in anything, yours is a history of greed, incompetence, negligence and the pass the buck culture which continues to exist and benefits only the privileged and political elite and punishes everyone else

Wow - all this venom for a store you don't shop in, just so you can start blaming the UK for the ills of the world?

A stretch even for you, Kevvie...[8|]

lobodomslavery -> RE: Have you heard the wonderful news folks? (10/5/2011 1:19:49 AM)

Is it not justified complaint. Can you think of one thing that Britain has done in the last 25 years that has actually benefited the world? Im not talking about the British people, they are fine, they are the victims of the malfeasance of the British administration, the decision to go to war in iraq by Tony Blair, who has blood on his hands, the decision to flagrantly ignore and allow football grounds become so decayed and dilapidated that they became positively unsafe and to only act after not one but TWO disasters, the blatant negligence of the British owned Herald of Free Enterprise which failed in the rudimentary basics of safety, the continued thwarting of attempts by the families of Hillsborough to get justice, by not holding ANYBODY accountable for the avoidable DISASTER and finally ripping off your own big style in the exorbitant prices during the worst recession in history. But in case you think im anti British im not, the Irish administration is just as bad and just as corrupt in the mismanagement and general greed of the banks for which everyone but those responsible are currently paying a price for

What has any of this got to do with Tesco's profits?

I wonder if the high mucky-mucks at Tesco are lipstick and stilletto wearing women?

DeviantlyD -> RE: Have you heard the wonderful news folks? (10/5/2011 2:39:02 AM)

Interesting query.

If this is the worst thing in the OP's life, he should consider himself fortunate.

Most of Kevins posts have nothing to do with anything other than his own issues, be it his women, his food, he wants it all for free.

I am guessing he is moaning about Tescos because he didnt get a job there. As for his claim of tescos getting thier comeuppance;

myotherself -> RE: Have you heard the wonderful news folks? (10/5/2011 2:49:06 AM)

The export of Alan Moore and Neil Gaiman into the American comics industry springs to mind as well. Then there's Eliza Carthy's recording career, and everything China Meiville has ever published.
Shitawful as the records were the two Live Aid things were this side of 85 as well. I really hope that kev doesn't think neither of those did anybody outside of the UK any good...

(As for Tesco, there are far pricier supermarkets: M&S and Waitrose both spring to mind for a start...)

lobodomslavery -> RE: Have you heard the wonderful news folks? (10/5/2011 5:01:06 AM)

Well i hope that report is untrue. Regardless i wont be contributing to their profits ever again
kevin
