Look most straight and gay people i have no problem with. But the straight people who destroyed this economy while creaming off huge profits prior to the collapse, and subsequently throwing large sections of their necessary foot soldiers who without them they would not be wealthy, on to the dole queues, yes i do and most decent people do have problems with these Jerks

Are you saying that the global economic fuck-up was caused exclusively by straight people?

You can't be saying that, because that would be pretty silly!

So is it simply that you only have a grudge against the straight purveyors of financial ruin, and that the gay ones are cool by you?

Hey...I'm straight and I love musical theatre!

Sadly I can't yet do 'jazz hands', but I'm practising.

I wanna see a bunny doing jazz hands...is it anything like hamsters ????

the few times i was in England, i liked Tesco's. i just have to ask, have you ever been to Wal-Mart?

We have Wal-Mart in the UK, running as the Asda brand. It's pretty much the biggest supermarket in the UK. There's a huge one near me, but to be honest I don't like it. I prefer to drive the extra couple of miles and go to the smaller Tesco. They have everything I need, prices are as good as Asda and customer service is second to none. And you get loyalty points. What's not to love about Tesco?

we walked by an ASDA when i was there and i was like "Hey... i know that smiley face" and sure enough the sign at a little line at the bottom that said "part of the walmart family" -- i was actually pretty horrified. =p

Lucylastic -> RE: Have you heard the wonderful news folks? (10/6/2011 6:00:51 AM)

Has Asda alway been part of walmart? I seem to remember 20 odd years ago, Asda kicked ASS
it was then that Sainsbury and Tesco picked up their arses and became "modern"

Myo, I thought you would like it:) nose nuzzzles!

myotherself -> RE: Have you heard the wonderful news folks? (10/6/2011 6:12:27 AM)

Asda was bought out by WalMart in 1999, according to Wikepedia (which is never wrong, of course )[:D]

Like i say. Judge not lest you be judged. i hate to preach, but what alternative am i left with when you censure me over trivialities. Please you are not the prime of Miss jean Brodie, but you appear from your comments to be taking on this authoritarian pedantic persona.
kevin

We don't censure you over trivialities. We censure you over raw unadulterated STUPIDITY.

Damn! I thought you were going to say Oblunder fell down an elevator shaft.

Exactly and this is not the same as wishing Bush died when he choked on a pretzel or Cheney dying during his surgery.

I'd like to see all of this type of talk banned, as well as changing the President's (and posters) name(s). I was very anti-Bush, but cannot condone calling him "the chimp."

I think you'll find most people are gay or straight.
Anyone claiming that Lidl is the best supermarket has to delusional.
We have one out of town and when the Paddies turn up to get their spam and potayters, they are followed around by the non English speaking staff.

News flash, the Irish don't speak with "potayters" type West Country accents. I think you'll also find that spam is particularly associated with the English, little wonder then that it is stocked in a English branch of Lidl. I don't think I have ever seen spam stocked in an Irish supermarket but then again I must admit I wasn't exactly looking out for it.

If you have an English degree, it came from the University of Spudtown.
Great thread though, keep going.

I wonder why the English always associate the Irish with spuds? Potatoes are not in any way an inherently Irish foodstuff, rather potatoes became popular because they gave a high yield of food on the tiny patches of land the poorest people used (small farmers and landless labourers). Thus I wonder is the British use of the word "spud" in relation to the Irish a mocking reference to the potato famine, which needlessly killed (in a country otherwise of plenty at the time) in excess of one million people already stricken by poverty, due to a significant extent from the effects of British colonialism? If that is the case then you should get a little gold star for good taste. BTW, re the "University of Spudtown" reference: are the British really in a position to look down on others considering their mess of an education system?

Whilst I do find Kevin's assertion daft as well, since greed and malfeasance would surely have little to do with sexual perference, the operative word here is "most". He was talking about these groups collectively in earlier posts.

lobodomslavery -> RE: Have you heard the wonderful news folks? (10/6/2011 10:14:46 AM)

The vast majority of those who contrived by their reckless actions to destroy are economies were regrettably straight. Thats not criticism just fact. Am I criticising all straight people ? NO NO and NO. The financial elite and they know who they are destroyed our economies through their reckless actions and governments are complicit in this for their laissez faire policy of allowing untrustworthy individuals carte blanche in terms of the decisions they made which were obviously very bad
kevin

lobodomslavery -> RE: Have you heard the wonderful news folks? (10/6/2011 10:16:04 AM)

Before someone censures me again over something utterly preposterous that should read our economies not are, a faux pas , please forgive
kevin

littlewonder -> RE: Have you heard the wonderful news folks? (10/6/2011 10:20:54 AM)

how did you know that everyone who ruined the economy is straight? Were you peeping through their bedroom windows??

That's quite the stretch to assume they are all straight.

lobodomslavery -> RE: Have you heard the wonderful news folks? (10/6/2011 10:21:45 AM)

And once again, i have to qualify when i say the vast majority were regrettably straight do i in any way purport to wish that the perpetrators were gay, NO NO and NO, do i in any way have animosity towards the gay community, absolutely not, i say regrettably straight because i just wish that the people in charge were not allowed to dismantle our economies and leave millions languishing in suffering through something which was not their fault but those of neglectful non interventionist governments which allowed the market and the bank professionals dictate, and of course the bosses in financial institutions who made the calamitous decisions for which ordinary people, completely blameless, the vast majority actually, completely blameless, are paying an undeserved and excessively high price.
