Take a look at the pictures I put up. One had writing that was barely visible.

If you caught a glimpse of me as you sailed by, no, you couldnt.

If you caught a glimpse of me holding a sign with a swat on it, yes you could.

What started it?

Whether you love it or hate it, Toby Keith definitely struck a nerve with his 2002 chart-topping single, "Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue (The Angry American)." When Natalie Maines expressed her opinion during an Aug. 8, 2002, interview with L.A. Daily News writer Fred Shuster, it began a series of public exchanges between the Dixie Chicks' lead vocalist and Keith.

"She said that anyone could write a song with lyrics like 'let's go kick some Iraqi ass,'" Shuster said in an interview for the CMT News special, Natalie vs. Toby: Both Sides of the War. "She said it made everyone look stupid -- the singer, the audience, country music radio ... anyone who would play a song so blatantly jingoistic."

He stayed at #1, they were at #4

I saw them. The hidden clue was that I referred to them in my post. And I think Pelosi saw them too. Which is why I think her statement was ingenuous. Accusing people of carrying signs with swastikas on them conveys an impression that is exactly the opposite of the actual meaning of those signs.

I don't see Swastikas with slashes through them as indicating that the sign-bearer is "accusing other's of Nazi-like tendencies."

There is no equivalent defense for the sign with the photo of the President with an Adolphian mustache. That is a nauseatingly hateful malignancy, and it is a rare overt and explicit manifestation of the ignorant and bigotted mindset of many of those who call themselves "Tea-partiers". I know several who identify with the "Tea Party" movement, and more than one have used the N-word in my presence, wrongly assuming that, because I live in Gingrich/Dominionist territory, I hold similar views. They thoroughly disgust me.

And it very quickly becomes plain that the terminology they use is frequently code for their racist Regressivism. This is an illuminating example of Tribalism; i.e., an example of the "us vs. them" mentality so endemic among authoritarian Regressives.

It's also a classic example of the "mote/beam" parable that is found in the so-called "New Testament": these people accuse Progressives of being blind to the imagined perils of "Multiculturalism" whilst being seemingly entirely ignorant to the end result of extreme tribal nationalism, which in post-Weimar Deutschland culminated in the Holocaust.

All those teabilly soi-disant "Christains"have really taken Yeshua's teachings to heart, haven't they?
