Stock goes up and down all the time. Just because a stock is going down, doesn't mean it didn't go up and go up big the previous year. Bonuses were not based on the current year, but on the previous years work. That's how bonuses are. How did you do in the past? Good? Well, here's your bonus!

There seems to be an idea here that Cain did something wrong. 30 people got bonuses while 500 lost their job. This is called a non sequitur. The one has nothing to do with the other.

Now, if you want to appeal to the "Occupy Wall Street" crowd, who thinks we should bump the minimum wage to $20.00 an hour, forgive all debt, make college free, etc, then you've got a point.

However, if you want to try to make Cain look bad to those of us with half a brain (Or more), this isn't going to do it.

Herman was on the board as an independent member. He had no direct knowledge of what executives were doing. And the information below as I read it state Herman Cain was appointed independent director to work on fixing the mess.

So we have two truths and in your truth the.....

In light of our increased focus on the fair, complete and accurate
reporting of our financial information, our completely independent
Audit Committee, chaired by independent director Gerald Shaheen

so, these guys are independent, dont know a fucking thing, and just collect the perks for being stupid.

now one has to call into question the integrity and honesty of a guy who would be used as a dupe and dunce.

Hey, Herm, chair the committee on exec compensation, but you don't need to be here or nothing, shit, you don't even have to know what the fuck you're doing.

Duhhhhhhhhh, OK. How much money do I get?

Is it any wonder that company fucked the shareholders and employees ...

cuz they have it these guys were dying to get a snootful of stock, and the other article says they had lock up rules on stock, so they couldnt sell, and that company senior execs invested heavily in their stock in contravention to their independant auditors recommendations.

You build this pathetic strawman to mock Cains business experience... which, thats all youve got is a strawman, while ignoring how sad your ad hominem angle is because of the fact that Cain has more business experience in his fingernail clippings than Obama has in his whole life

And we don't even have criminal guilt, just liberal the-rich-are-all-greedy-bastards-lets-string-them-up guilt.  Where there criminal investigations?  Indictments?

You are not going to see criminal indictments when we have a Wall Street Government.  We have had one for a good 30 years or so.  Keating was just the canary in the coal mine.  Since his time, laws were changed to legitimize the looting.

That's not too deep of a point to comprehend, is it?

BTW, given his 'black walnut' jokes handed out amid these recent interviews, I think Cain will end up being too 'street black' for White America's taste.  Obama is more 'Harvard black' (the intellectual 'almost white' variety).

I could never fathom Obama talking like this in an interview (that is, if you can look past Dick Morris channeling Liberace without laughing first)

Let's see. A left leaning news station interviews a Republican conservative candidate and the questioning can be viewed as hostile.

WOWWWWWWWW Imagine that. I'm fucking FLABBERGASTED. I mean, who would have thought about such a thing?

The next question is this. What the FUCK does it have to do with Cain being black or not?

Anyone race baiting maybe? Sanity? anyone?

Edited to add "Sarcasm font" because some won't get it.

O'Donnell is suppose to be a journalist.

As I said before, as Cain rises in the polls, the mainstream media will attempt to paint him as any or all of: 1) a racist, 2) a criminal or 3) stupid.  Someone else (willbur, sanity?) said that I forgot to add 4) draft dodger.

Looks like this was an attempt at 1 and 4.  See Directo's thread about "Lincoln" for an attempt at number 3.

Exactly Lawrence O'Donnell is supposed to be a journalist like Bill O'Reilly and Sean Hannity. He is on a 24-hour news network where anyone that appears on these networks are supposed to be journalist.

Of course Liberal Media will attempt to smear Cain as he rises in popularity. Its there job. Questionable behaviors and actions should never be brought ever, unless its a Democratic Candidate like Obama. Where they brought his association with Acorn, Social work and his pastor. The public does NOT have a right to know about the shady past history of a Republican presidential nominee only the good history. The same cant be said for democrats. Thats being fair and balanced.

Maybe you should check the guy out instead of going on gut feeling. :)

You come across as pretty knowledgeable in politics so I'm a little surprised that you're missing some of the obvious things on him.

You know he's flip flopping right? He's a big business and Fed guy and is only co-opting Ron Paul's message as many of them are. Why trust someone that does that to win votes?

Icarys,

My mind can be changed, and I'm sure that there are things about him that I need to know.

But the fact is, if you allow the media to color your mind with their smears, you are being coopted, just as they intend.

Mother Jones isn't exactly "conservative friendly", and so far there is nothing much other than them pointing the finger at him because he was on a Board of Directors, with "associative guilt" about something that I suspect they know little about.  (In other words, the meme they are pushing is "those dirty evil rich people" liberal meme). Nothing even criminal.  Just hatred.

I like a lot of Ron Paul's positions, but do not think he has the balls to be a good and effective President.  He tends to whine, not come to grips with issues and come up with workable solutions. I tend to be libertarian myself, but Paul has too much of the touch of an ideologue.

Of course, one man's ideologue is another man's principled candidate.  [8D][:)]

Firm

Exactly Mother Jones isnt exactly conservative friendly unlike Andrew Breitbart. Therefore any facts and evidence that Mother Jones discovers is inherently false and fake while evidence Andrew Breitbart will always present the truth. This is because we are Entitled to our own Facts but not to our own opinions.

He just benefited from it by being Ignorant.  And No its not the same as Obama being ignorant about ATF Fast and Furious operation.Obama Administration must be held responsible for the the actions of the people he left in charge of the ATF regardless of whether or not he had direct knowledge about the operation. Its not the same things at all especially since Cain was not the CEO which is similar to a president, instead he was more like Eric Holder.

There was a very odd interview on MSNBC

quote:

Fireworks: MSNBC's Lawrence O'Donnell's Hostile Interview With Herman Cain

Lawrence O'Donnell tries to pit Herman Cain as anti-black and a draft dodger in a bizarre interview that didn't seem have to a point other than to attack Mr. Cain. However, the GOP presidential candidate stayed on his feet throughout the entire interview and didn't let O'Donnell's mind games get to him.

Mr. Cain worked for the Navy in the field of ballistics during the war. Lawrence O'Donnell? He received a deferment since he was attending college.

O'Donnell tried to paint Cain as some sort of traitor to blacks because he didn't participate in protests and sit-ins during the Civil Rights era.

"I did not insult the intelligence of all black Americans," Herman Cain said about his 'brainwashing' comment. "I insulted the attitude of those that will not consider an alternate idea." He also said black voters "did not consider my statement insulting because a lot of them are thinking for themselves."

"Now, if they want to talk about insulting, they need to look at the president when he talks to the Congressional Black Caucus and insulted black people, in my opinion, by telling them to take off their slippers and put on their marching boots when he has had nothing but failed policies," Cain said in response to Lawrence accusing him of insulting black Americans.

Full article here

Certain white leftists tend to get pissy if they feel that a minority figure doesnt want to bow down to what they feel is their far superior intellect.

Lemme tell you something (call me a racist).

97% of the black population voted for Obama....they didn't give a shit if he was the right guy...the numbers tell the story.  They voted for him because he was one of them.  If that ain't racist...It's impossible to define the term.

An absolute FUCKLOAD of whites voted for Barack because they felt....."it's time".

A shitload of whites voted for Barack because they felt (honestly, inherently, indubitably) ...."why not?  A black guy is as good as any white guy" (and should be)....MOST whites (contrary to most others) don't have this fucking dagger hanging over their heads (maybe because we haven't been dragged behind a 73 Buick....I get it)...but the fact is....his was a time when the time was ready....he (clearly) wasn't.

Ain't no black man gonna get elected because every BLACK man (and a few whites) are gonna say....."sorry bud....you had your shot...."

Go ahead...take your shots...but the fact is....America votes on history...and history hasn't served Barack well.

It's gonna be decades before another black man gets elected.

I don't vote anymore...haven't since Gore won (and I'm a Republican).  It's a complete waste of time...the Electoral College elects our Prez....not you....not me.

Anyone that believes otherwise....ain't reading the papers.

I find your particular brand of racism more disturbing than the kind you see from republicans. So you think he is only popular with republicans because he is black? It couldn't be because he has achieved a lot in his life, running a few businesses and working for the fed. Naa. Couldn't be because he is not a career politician. Or that as an outsider he might just have fresh ideas that are different than the normal ones that keep the system going in a circle. Has to be because he's black right? Couldn't be any other reason.

As I`ve already commented,he`s popular with cons because he appeals to the simpler folks, with simple feel-good ideas, such as "no bills longer than three pages. That`s a Sarah like quality. And spreads Islamaphobia, the latest red meat cons are loving.Such a sweat man....[8|]

He declares that he`ll only allow "small bills", if he`s elected.[8|]

Does he know the POTUS don`t write bills, that congress writes them and the POTUS can`t say shit about how many pages any given bill might have?

He just talks out of his ass.

He`s another version of Sarah Palin. We don`t need to make any effort other than let the man talk.

That`s why I want him to win the GOP nod.

Because he so damm beatable.

How you race obsessed cons read race into my comments talks more about your own POVs.
