SternSkipper -> Confrontation Looms In Boston... (10/10/2011 7:19:58 PM)

Looks like the encampment expanded about a few hundred feet to the other side of this ventilation building at the site and the cops are massing around the area to use that as a reason to come down hard... They have intimated they will wait till midnight and then swoop in.
I'm in the process of lobbing calls to basically anyone I know in the metro area that I think will show up... also trying to get a baby sitter myself..... anyway, this is what's on the web for you to read... the rest is word of mouth. I hope none of these people get the treatment they dished out to Red Sox Fans in 04

"A movement that isn't willing to take casualties, even deaths, isn't worth shit." I think it was Jerry Rubin who said that.

Sanity -> RE: Confrontation Looms In Boston... (10/10/2011 7:45:28 PM)

Oh yeah, I am sure that all the conservatives in the Boston city and the Massachusetts state government are gonna be really hostile toward these DNC / Goldman Sachs sponsored protests  [:D]

It couldnt be that youre acting the part of a drama queen, or anything like that...

Who said anybody isn't willing to take arrests? Oh YEAH ... JUST YOU... Stop spinning you'll get dizzy.

TheHeretic -> RE: Confrontation Looms In Boston... (10/10/2011 7:57:24 PM)

So you equate somebody being willing to take a ticket, with somebody being willing to show up knowing there will be police dogs, firehoses, and batons? Really?

That's very sad.

tazzygirl -> RE: Confrontation Looms In Boston... (10/10/2011 8:00:37 PM)

Has that happened yet?

Your mother know she turned out such a faulty liar? There ain't a PENNY of corporate support in the whole thing. PROVE IT... oh wait, you can't... all you can do is run around trying to wreck threads.
You never met a Boston Cop apparently... Whatever it's not even math required to know the magpies would show for this thread.

Latest update is that so many people have shown up at this point it's unlikely the cops will make a move tonight.

Hey have fun when they start rolling into Boise... hope ya don't yank what's left of that hair out trying to make sense of it

tazzygirl -> RE: Confrontation Looms In Boston... (10/10/2011 8:09:37 PM)

Something i just read from boston.... were they planning on moving them out before the group swelled past the first venue, requiring the protesters to take over a second or after the numbers grew?

Sanity -> RE: Confrontation Looms In Boston... (10/10/2011 8:12:37 PM)

No I don't equate anybody getting a ticket at all this isn't frisco sweetie.
Everybody there knows what they're in for... and you're attack routine is just what it is. Human Spam... inserting the word 'ticket' to make a phoney point that's so pathetic

Losing interest in the scavenger routine... you're on your own

How would he know? He's making up everything as he goes along... he has to even add content to make his own rather thin point... It's 11:15 and they are showing LIVE footage and They are handing out flyers to the folks who settled in the "new" area telling them they are unlawfully assembling and must leave or be subject to arrest. They are not leaving and in fact are handing copies of the notice out among themselves . My phone's ringing cya

tazzygirl -> RE: Confrontation Looms In Boston... (10/10/2011 8:25:34 PM)

Have fun! And post what happened when you get back!

erieangel -> RE: Confrontation Looms In Boston... (10/10/2011 8:32:52 PM)

SternSkipper, Sanity just can't accept the fact that the left will organize on a truly grass roots level while it takes the Koch millions to get the tea party to do anything at all.

Are you familiar with the gentleman that quote was attributed to, Tazzy? It's pretty rare these days.

tazzygirl -> RE: Confrontation Looms In Boston... (10/10/2011 8:39:16 PM)

I cant seem to even locate the quote on line.

No ... In fact this is the result of the commissioner coming down and having a pissing match about the overcrowding this afternoon. It was first implied they could expand. They have PERMISSION from the Conservators of these two park areas BTW
However... it's still unlawful assembly WHICH WE GET... WE AREN'T Tea Puttys after all... We BASED this on civil disobedience.

Yeah, I've hunted it myself. I can't remember who the author was, and big chunks of my old library were sold off, when I moved south. Reportedly, Rubin said it to a group of organizers, who had reservations about getting beaten up by the cops in Chicago, '68. Or maybe he was yelling it, when the protersters were running away from the cops.

I was actually offering encouraging words to Sternskipper, but he seems to view the world through a rigid and narrow template, where I must always be the devil, because I don't vote like he does.

tazzygirl -> RE: Confrontation Looms In Boston... (10/10/2011 9:03:41 PM)

Yes, I know its based upon that. I was just curious as to the timing of things.

Sanity -> RE: Confrontation Looms In Boston... (10/10/2011 9:12:56 PM)

He is wound kinda tight, in his head its gotta be a huge "confrontation" but I dont see how theres going to be a whole lot of that in one of the most left leaning cities in the country, those boys are preaching to the choir there.
