Because of people like YOU.

The corrupt and pathetic bi-partisan government needs to be reworked. Why should everyone have to be either a "conservative, selfish, money-hungry, elitist, gun-toting, racist republican" or a "minority-supporting, liberal, money-to-the-poor, homosexual, abortion-supporting democrat". In a national election, choosing the lesser of 2 evils is almost always the case. Both candidates are merely puppets to the international banking cartels, regardless of what they state their agenda is. Whoever is the most successful liar (politician) always wins. That is, unless someone else has more money. A professional looking/speaking man with $100,000,000,000 could probably steal a presidential election handily. The media could be bought & sold like stocks & bonds. The media in this country is the 4th branch of the government nowadays in some ways. For example, if one could afford to put a commercial promoting themself on every channel/all day, their odds of winning would increase rapidly. There has never been a green party or independent president elected and there never will be. Why do they even attempt to run? Why not enact a system where you vote on each issue separately. Whichever candidate matches the most with everyone who voted is the one elected. Instead of "this guy is republican, all republicans vote for him!" and "democrats... vote for the democrat!" Most bandwagoners will disagree with their chosen candidate on multiple different issues. They vote anyway, knowing any independent candidate, who might fit them better, would simply be a waste of their vote. This issue needs to be addressed.

I have no fucking clue what you're talking about. Explain it so I can understand the YOU.

Perhaps if the right's spokespersons in here were more willing to accept that their faction had some responsibility for its various fuck ups, fargle and O59 would be a bit less shrill and histrionic about that?

I see so other people are making them say hateful things. Just out of curiosity, when should someone start taking responsibility for their own shit and stop blaming their actions on others? Do you think 50 is old enough or ever?

Then let's throw it open to any and all of the UK posters who enjoy their smug condescension towards the "racist" States. You're aware that one of Henry VIII's wives (Anne of Cleves) was a Spanish Moor?

I did read your words.

I even read this last set, which I won't quote, and which removed any desire to try and understand you.

Thanks for the thoughtful reply, Strange. You raised too many good points for me to address in the few minutes before I need to get off to work, but I think anybody reading on this thread should give your post the reflection it deserves.

I have never said anything about the States being racist, just about some, not all, of our regular republican posters.

Polite,

If you are specifically talking about Sanity (which you are), then perhaps you are seeing only what you wish to see, since any mention of race or race-baiting on his part has been in reaction to the American Left's use of race and race baiting.

I find it sadly humorous that you call "racist" and "race-baiter" when the very people who have had this technique of political alienation used on them (in general for decades and more intensely for the last three years) start pointing out the fact and turning the same technique (usually as satire) back on the original accusers.

Oh yeah, it was definitely started by the democrats, what asswipe.......

The vitriol has been engaged in by both sides since their were party systems.

The people you mentioned don't have any idea of satire. They are vitrolic haters, who; never having credible facts at their disposal felch the idological extremest lines.

There's an alternate perspective of the Clinton years....

Newt Gingrich is one of the most power mad people that have held political office in this century- probably right up there with Joe McCarthy. This isn't only my take on the guy- there was a recent piece in the NY Times here: http://www.nytimes.com/2011/09/06/opinion/the-last-moderate.html- an interview with Jim Cooper who is been around since Newt and is a blue dog Democrat- a guy who gets no respect. He commented that Congress used to work together- but Newt broke it and nobody's put it back together since. Its a view that holds some water.

Newt also lead the charge against Clinton. Previously, the Presidential penis was off limits- the job is tough enough, and the privacy of the Presidential penis has been protected because to do otherwise demeans the office and makes the job even tougher. That didn't stop Newt. He saw correctly, that if he crippled the Presidency, the Speaker of the House would become more powerful. He also was probably smart enough to see that he's unelectable. What I have trouble with is your characterization of Clinton as a man with no morals- but Newt is the revolving son of a bitch that divorced his wife as she lay dying from cancer. Clinton may not be able to keep his dick in his pants, but to quote Raul Julia in Tequila Sunrise "You cannot blame a man for following where his dick leads. That's like blaming a compass for pointing north."

Clinton is a guy that women will drop their panties for in a New York minute. I don't understand why, but he's got a charm with the ladies that I wish I had 1% of. It's a separate debate whether Hilary really loves the guy- I suspect that at the end of the day- she does- knowing full well what she had married.

Hanging out on this site has taught me a bit about the variations in how people define sex. If I had a buck for every profile I've read that says something like "Not interested in sex, BDSM only", I wouldn't have to work. These folks aren't lying- they see a distinction between BDSM and intercourse that people outside this community might say is completely whacked. (and some within the community as well.) Clearly a lot of the people on this site that draw the distinction between sex and BDSM use the word "sex" as a synonym for the word "fuck". In other words, if they're not fucking someone, they're not having sex. Often they feel virtuous about this distinction- since they could have fucked the other person but didn't. If you replace a finger wagging Clinton claiming "I didn't have sex with that woman" with "I didn't fuck that woman." you've got a statement that a lot of people here might agree with.

I've got friends outside this community who have drawn this distinction too. Women who I've been friends with that we umm, fooled around a bit but never had intercourse- well, they can tell their husbands with a straight face, "I never had sex with Sam." It helps maintain a friendship 20 years later.

So Clinton probably did feel a bit virtuous with Monica, knowing full well he could have fucked her, but instead, settled for a blow job. While most of us would be ecstatic with a blow job if thats what we're going to get, he's operating at a somewhat different level.

Clinton was crippled in trying to undo the damage of the Reagan/Bush years- and as someone in science- I'm pretty sure you saw that damage as well as I did. Seems to me that there's been a lot of damage control happening after neocon administrations. I do draw the distinction between neocon and Republican admins though- I actually admire the job that Gerry Ford did. He had to fall on his sword to protect the country- prosecuting Nixon would have been terribly divisive and left a deeper wound, but failure to do so cost him his shot at an election. So while I can respect Gerry Ford, I have a hard time with any of the neocons that have followed.

The vitriol has been engaged in by both sides since their were party systems.

Both sides use "vitriol", that is a given.  However, the use of that particular technique was pioneered and has become a trademark of the left side of the political spectrum.

Perhaps it had some utility in the pre-Civil Rights or immediate post-Civil Rights periods in our history.  Much less so now, but since it was such a potent and effective political tool in the past, it was adopted as a mainstay by many, even if the truthfulness of the accusations are much more questionable now.

I dunno if I agree with you completely here.

I find your continuing use of the "flelch" term and meme to be extremely distasteful.  It appears to be an attempt to marginalize someone with whom you simply disagree with ideologically.  It is nothing more than the very same "vitriol" that you mention above, and serves no honorable purpose, that I can see.

Well you obviously have an opinion on its origination, that is singularly devoid of cluttering fact...

Just on face value since we are spitballing without a hint of fact here, you are aware that the democratic party is the OLDEST party in the United States, now it would appear to me that since it would take two to fight, the opposition might have started it, since the first government would have been democratic, and in the end, through all its snaking changes and chameleonisms that opposition exists today as the republican party.

Well you claimed that Nancy Palossi called people nazis when in fact she was chiding people for holding swasikas at her town hall meeting.

What/who made you say such hateful things?

Damn, Owner, I thought liberals were all knowledgeable about "code words" and "hidden meanings" in the right's arsenal of hate speech ...?

Don't you think we are just as knowledgeable about liberal "code words" and "hidden meanings"?

Sure ... she didn't specifically use the word "nazis" ... she just painted the picture so that only the most obtuse (or willingly ignorant) would fail to make the connection.

That way, people such as yourself could come in and claim that she never said any such thing ... and, in one sense, you'd be right.  But in the more important sense, you are obviously wrong.
