I don't see Romney giving anyone anything but the runs, period.

If everyone I saw post or heard say they were throwing their vote away on a third party, actually voted third party, I believe you would find a third party that would start putting pressure on the other two

Just closely look at the third parties of the last few Presidential elections.... then tell me they had a platform that had a chance in hell... Now in the future if a third party comes along I may consider it... But it would have to form long before now and have support.

Some years ago Ross Perot was on the verge of enough support to make a difference but then he went off the deep end with radical comments and his support evaporated… There is no third party candidate or party today that does not harbor a radical platform….So… any vote for them would just be throwing it away.

Perot....lol,that was the last, and only time,I have ever thrown my vote away.Face it folks ours is a two party system and absent immense change that's how it will stay.

The last Dimocrat I voted for in a federal election was Sam Nunn for Senate- before he voted to give away the Panama canal.

I'll vote for another one- for anything- when Jesus runs as a Dimocrat, or maybe, just maybe, when the Devil runs as a Republican.

Awww, shit we wuz counting on your vote, now what will we do [&o]

popeye1250 -> RE: Not voting for Obama. (10/14/2011 2:50:45 PM)

I'm going to vote "absentee" this year because I know there's going to be a sea of Senior citizens at all the polling places.

slvemike4u -> RE: Not voting for Obama. (10/14/2011 2:52:51 PM)

I don't think "absentee" has a snowballs chance in hell of winning popey, but it is your vote you cast it for who you choose to [:D]

Winterapple -> RE: Not voting for Obama. (10/14/2011 3:39:20 PM)

I will be voting happily for Obama.
I've been disappointed by some things
he has and hasn't done but overall I
think he has done a very good job as
president. I've never doubted his
intelligence, his integrity or his
competence as a leader.
Not voting or a third party protest
vote is a vote for the GOP.
I think Romney will most likely be
the Republican nominee. He is the
strongest of that scary field with
independents but I think the same
people who hated McCain hate him
thus dooming his chances.

And what about a third party convinced and honest vote?
Are votes what you decide they are, or what the people who vote decide they are?

erieangel -> RE: Not voting for Obama. (10/14/2011 9:54:21 PM)

The election is about 390 days away--not very far off, but a lifetime in politics.

Anyway, I'll be voting for Obama unless Bernie Sanders were to decide to get into the race.  The only Republican in the field I'd even consider voting for is Huntsman and he won't get the nomination because he's too "practical" about matters; plus, the Republicans will never forgive him for serving in Obama's administration.

I'm not happy with how Obama's presidency has gone so far (we should have had a public option in health care, dammit) but I have been considering what he's been up against with an opposition party whose goal is not to their jobs and improve the lives of the American people but to see Obama as a one-term president.

Do they not have "tactical voting" in Spain?

Willbur had given his prediction of a near landslide for a Romney/Rubio ticket

I think Romney would give Obama a real run for his money in the general election, but "crown prince" of the Tea Party movement Marco Rubio on the ticket might scare off centrists.

And he couldn't even stay current on mortgage payments!!!

Rubio clinches Florida (though its going to be tough for Obama to win there even without Rubio), and diffuses some of the key Hispanic vote. He's a lock to be offered it. The only reason he declines if he thinks it hurts his own Presidential aspirations for 2016.
