ORIGINAL: tazzygirl The same person who told her that getting a job is easy in this economy. I didn't say easy, did I? But it's certainly doable for anyone who puts their mind to it. I could start up a pet-sitting business just right here in the little corner of the world I live in (a five mile radius) and be kept busy day and night should I so choose. Find a need and fill it, and don't be afraid of hard work. If people with pets arent working, where are they getting the money from? 16% of the country is out of work. NY "real" unemployment is 15%. McDonalds had over a million applications for 62,000 jobs. People are willing and eager to work.... get off your high horse. I'm not on any high horse. I chose to work from home so that I could be here to take care of children, pets and HM's needs. That meant I had to figure out a way to do so. I started off working for others, moved on to working for myself, and now have some lovely people who work with and for me. It's NOT easy, but if you find a need, you will find a job and maybe even a career. Even in this economy, you can find a way to support yourself. And if New York, one of the most expensive places to live is not working, you may have to consider moving to a more reasonable area. People do what they have to do. Or they march and complain about the ones who are.
