FirmhandKY -> Cain 43%, Obama 41% (10/17/2011 5:42:01 PM)

For the first time, Cain outpolls likely voters, if the election were held today.

2012 Presidential Matchups
Monday, October 17, 2011

Whether Herman Cain’s surge in the polls is temporary or has staying power, he’s enjoying a big enough bounce to take a very slight lead over President Obama in a hypothetical 2012 matchup. At the moment, the Georgia businessman is the only Republican with a lead of any kind over Obama, although former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney has held a similar advantage several times and is currently trailing the president by just two points.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey of Likely U.S. Voters shows Cain attracting 43% support, while Obama earns 41%. Given such a matchup, eight percent (8%) prefer some other candidate, and another eight percent (8%) are undecided. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

Cain is tied with Romney for the lead in the race for the GOP presidential nomination.  Nobody else is even close at the moment.

I've noticed the MSM going after Cain tooth and nail lately.  I expect it to get even worse.

Cain could implode, but I hope not.

That's mostly because most people don't truly understand how his absurd 999 plan will affect them--with higher overall taxes than most of the middle class pay today.

I was under the impression that most Americans don't mind paying taxes as it provides benefits for all.

I personally don't have the details on the plan, so I'm undecided on how I feel about it... but everyone paying the same percentage seems pretty fair to me.

What do you think is fair?

Only if all corporate enabling laws and stockholding corporations were made illegal, and reparations are made by corporations for their nefarious activities in whole, and fines were assessed for use of governemental regulation and appeasment, retroactively. This would include all individuals who benefitted proportionally in past and present, and their estates.

As long as Perry and Bachman are out, I'm cool with it.

Fuckin nutbags

On an annual income of under $25,000 my 9% in federal taxes, plus 9% in taxes for everything (including food) which I purchase new would be a lot more than 9% of both for somebody making millions a year.

Incomplete unless you add in Santorum.

Back on topic - I've been shocked at how the GOP king-of-the-hill's been going.  It's always Romney and someone else on top, with the someone else changing quickly.  Perry shot to the top instantly, and held on for a month or two.   Romney never budging, while everyone else zips up and down.  Now it's Cain's turn.

slvemike4u -> RE: Cain 43%, Obama 41% (10/17/2011 8:18:58 PM)

See this is what is wrong with your party.Cain is totally unsuited to the chief executive post....did you see him on Meet The Press ?
The times call for serious answers not Bachmann's ,Palin's and Cains .

I think it would be a very interesting situation, to have two black men running. I can imagine a certain segment of the populace being perfectly apoplectic at that. [:D]
