i'm not trying to be argumentative, but any time i've seen you write that, within the context it usually seems to mean "in 20 years you'll see things MY way."in fact, any time someone pulls that during a debate, that seems to be what they mean. of course, an overall outlook might change in 20 years, but there are some things that people believe their whole lives, no matter what.

Ok I didn't say it. I quoted those guys^ but they all seem to have it right (IMO) and they are dead now so I will take note of what the wiser ones had to say. Anyone want cheesecake? How about milk and cookies? Maybe a smack on the ass? What does it take to get people happy?

No, its a sign that they are witty enough to throw it out to make fun of the person they are talking to who has, or is likely to play it, or who does it so often and predictably that their entire forum presence has become a joke.

There was a thread about it once, where older people were very politely asked to refrain from doing it as it really is very insulting to the younger people. It was full of replies from the usual suspects justifying doing it no matter how insulting the younger person found it by saying "when you are older you will understand why".

Heather makes fun of older people for their opinions, calling them old biddies, etc. It's the same thing (ageism) in reverse. There was a lot of that from her in the cheerleader thread I didn't see other people doing it to her. (although I might have missed some)
