Well...he does have a nice profile, and I've always enjoyed his posts.
However, I'm not much into public play.... [;)]

Galaga. I used to ROCK that game!!

I got over 4 million points on the arcade game in college one day.  Drew a crowd like crazy.

UT 2004, Runescape, Final Fantasy (any if done right), Lizard got me a copy of Oblivion for the PC, got Age of Empires somewhere around here as well as Warcraft II, Gauntlet Dark Legacy (especially as the BDSM midget).  Mom and I play Pogo games when we can (I do it for the badges).

Wait a minute...how the hell did Lizard get hold of a M game?  I am going to take her PS3 away from her...

She wants Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 anyway...

Shit, I just found Quake in my cd holder!

Tells you how often I clean this desk off....

MadAxeman -> RE: what is your favorite video game? (10/19/2011 7:06:52 PM)

Age Of Empires is a Warcraft clone, good history lesson in there.
WarcraftII was the dogs bollocks.
Quake will ruin your life.
Does anybody remember Duke Nukem? 'Looking goooood'

RexDarcy -> RE: what is your favorite video game? (10/19/2011 7:37:57 PM)

I remember Duke Nukem. It was, and still is cool.

Starcraft with the Broodwar expansion pack was addicting back in the day.

NocturnalStalker -> RE: what is your favorite video game? (10/19/2011 8:01:36 PM)

The only "first person shooter" game I ever liked was Doom 2.  I fondly recall the soundtrack being loops of popular songs from bands like Slayer, Pantera, Alice In Chains, etc.

FFVII was a beautiful game. ^_^ soundtrack, visual scenes and effects, complex storyline, and really well-developed characters.

I have beaten that game so many times. A very hard game to top. I want my materia back damnit.

Endivius -> RE: what is your favorite video game? (10/20/2011 3:02:06 AM)

Final Fantasy 7. Never has a game before or since changed the gaming industry. When I measure a games total value, not just it's graphics, enjoyment, replay value, story, or creativity; allways it is measured to this game. Allways.

Had FF7 not been released and never existed on playstation, Nintendo and Microsoft would have locked sony out of the gaming market. It's that simple.

NocturnalStalker -> RE: what is your favorite video game? (10/20/2011 3:36:57 AM)

Now you're just overrating the game while ignoring why Sony actually became a juggernaut in the first place.

Epytropos -> RE: what is your favorite video game? (10/20/2011 4:24:20 AM)

Morrowind, no question. Already preordered Skyrim even though I suspect it's going to be closer to the travesty that was Oblivion than its masterpiece predecessor :(

This generation, probably Bioshock, though I wish they'd made it harder.

i used to love a lot of RPGs on SNES. breath of fire 1&2, the final fantasy series, lufia and the fortress of doom, etc etc -- oh and pirates of darkwater -- i could play that game to the end, start it over, and play it through again, it was just so much fun. =p

Word, that was probably the best platform ever for RPGs.

I'm playing through Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles on the gamecube at the moment, but my real favourites are ancient 8 bit things. If I was going to pick just one, it'd probably be Elite...

You don't think Tomb Raider or the first Resident Evil had anything to do with the playstation going over big, then?

LillyBoPeep -> RE: what is your favorite video game? (10/20/2011 5:58:15 AM)

yeah i kinda agree with moonhead -- tomb raider and resident evil were pretty big; they had a lot to do with the success of sony, too. RE 1, 2, and 3, were originally available on playstation, and only later made available to other consoles.
plus, sony had other lines to carry on, like Mega Man  (how could i not have mentioned mega man before now? =p), breath of fire, games that had their own reeeeally loyal followings.

another game i loooove to death is Super Smash TV! ^_^ whoo hoo! mindless carnage and destruction!

Twisted metal , ratchet and clank. They dominated because of their diverse catalogue. But ffvii did for the playstation what donkey Kong country did for the super nintendo. It showed what the system could actually do.

zelda, duke nukem, banjotooie (precursor to crash bandicoot), bad fur day (have one with manual for sale in my shop) halo on xbox, call of duty on ps although thats crossing between as well.

Who all has red pack 64s so you can play 3-d zelda and all the REAL 64 games?

Favorite sweatshirt:

Pimple-faced, tow-headed kid with a 64 game upside down and pursed lips...caption?

Sony had amazing third-party support since they allowed developers to go wild with what they could get away with.  Nintendo still thought people were 8-year-olds and still haven't gotten with the times.

FFVII was the first mainstream RPG for people which is why it is popular.  A game like Metal Gear Solid showed just what Sony's machine could deliver.

blacksword404 -> RE: what is your favorite video game? (10/20/2011 7:42:53 PM)

As it is I'm holding a grudge against nintendo. Me and my brother had a discussion about them going kiddie. Sad. I used to love nintendo because they let their developers just go ham. And crank out all sorts of games. I saw a Wii game my cousin was playing and it made me curl my lip in disgust. I still occasionally will give metal gear solid a play.

Even though the early versions sucked on graphics I still like playing wild arms.

NocturnalStalker -> RE: what is your favorite video game? (10/20/2011 8:28:32 PM)

The Wii, as I told many others, is a waste of money.  The idea of motion controls sounds appealing and fun in theory but you realize that it translates to shallow gameplay in execution.  I heard a lot of the games that are good on the Wii don't even use the motion controls or use them selectively so that's laughable.

A lot of games today I find myself disinterested in.  There are so many FPS games out there that I have honestly lost count.  Plus I always thought the idea of "DLC" was laziness on the developer's part.
